1687-8 #0041-97
I paid $10,000.00 plus shipping, and that’s what I’d like to get for it. Hit this link for pictures on the ovationtribute website: Original Slothead #41 . Includes case, case cover, and lots of documentation. Sounds like a $10K guitar should.
1187-247 #87
I bought this 47RI from Mike in late 2009. There are some great pictures of this guitar the ovationtribute website: 1187-247 #87 . Includes case, case candy, walnut tuner buttons, original gold plated tuner buttons, and strap. $3200.00
1688-8 #9722-87
Remarkably clean guitar built in 1994 that sings like a choir. Includes case. See this thread for details: 1688-8 12-String $1500.00
1680 #23077
I’m the original owner and this is not an FRG. Perfect condition. I’ll take pictures if anyone is seriously interested. $1550.00
Prices do not include shipping or insurance. Feel free to ask questions. |

Good luck. Sorry you're feeling the need to sell these great guitars..... |

Terrific. As Paul says, for $10K, worth every penny. Someday, I hope to own one of the originals. The "97" in the serial number represents the vibrometer frequency reading, which is very high. In fact, very few of the originals reached this high. From the list, Charlie's original No. 47 (considered by some to be the best ever) appears to have recorded the highest frequency at 99. |

Best of luck! |

That one had the potential to cause some real trouble 'round my house.
An envious "Congrats!" to the new owner. And again, best of luck with the rest. |

Your old Glen Campbell project guitar has to leave my stable for her. Well, I can't hold them all, but maybe there is another very good home for this one.....an OFC member, too.
Thanks guys!

Once you have one of the original slotheads, you won't feel the need for the others. |

The knob from the preamp I found at an old car-radio and the back-door I've made by myself from a piece of black plastic. Now the cross-spring for inside is the only thing I'm missing.
You can see pics of her on my ning page.

Location: Right now? | Well, I already own a -47 and the 1680; two of THE best out there. Oh, how I wish I could figure out a way to snag that 1687-8. She would be a nice compliment to my '78 1687 ... gulp. My 1978 sounds like nothing I own, and I used to own a 2009 copy of the same model (sans slothead of course) ... it was not the same as my '78, no way. I can only imagine what that one sounds like ... the creme de la creme.
The wheels are feverishly spinning ...

...It's quite amazing that the wife brought up guitar wants and needs this morning. I have not mentioned any desire to her for another instrument, and I haven't been looking online at pics in front of her. I think she has begun to learn to read my mind, OR there must be some kind of physical and/or psychological behavior she has picked up on when I have GAS. Anyone here have any idea what indicators she could be observing? Can any of you LADIES enlighten me on this???? |

Couple that knowledge with a woman's natural desire to buy stuff, even if it is entirely useless, as long as it's on sale, without any hint of guilt, your wife probably bought something useless and is wondering why haven't. Therefore, if you don't buy a guitar soon, she will figure you are having an affair. So you better buy a guitar, Vince. Affairs and divorces are much more expensive. So are wives, though. |

Too bad the 47 is gone... that's definitely one I'd like to have. I think I would have to add SOME KIND of electronics to it though ... perhaps just one of the fancy in-hole setups the big boys use. |

Not really, though I did recently receive a pretty interesting trade offer. Eventually the right person will come along. Everytime I pick it up I become more and more reluctant to sell it. |
