Just wait to see some real pics of the new guitars from you as that one on the bay seems from stock and probably doesn't do justice to the beauty of the guitar. I remember seeing the Adamas WT on the YouTube channel of Ovation as well, and also few photos posted here on the fan club ... but nothing special. |

As a side note, IMHO the price of the original 2 knob models have just gone up...
Still, a nice guitar... |

For extended periods of time, people wanting a new adamas had little or no option to get a textured top adamas. When I bought my w597, I would have bought an Adamas I in a flash, but they simply weren't out there, as all the official documentation said they weren't making them any more. After I bought that they produced the limited edition reissues (bad timing for me), but then they produced the 08C (again limited edition - but good timing this time).
Anyone wanting a traditional Adamas I has either had to go Custom shop ($$$) or be lucky in when they wanted it. That drives up the price of the 2nd hand ones. I think this new guitar will put downward pressure on the 2nd hand ones, because they'll have serious competition.
I like the new neck design (I can see where I'm putting the allen key, instead of feeling for a good connection when adjusting the neck). I like having a built in tuner. Yes, the two knobbers are stylish, but for many people function will overpower form. |

hand laid fiberglass bowl and Adamas tone ring top attachment system.
elites did not have that. these guitars are truly wood top adamas NOT elites. |

So why is OMA the bad guy?
We did discuss this at the Roadshow. And we talked about the Suspension Ring and the 1537. As it sez in the Ovation Gallery; The answer from the engineering department was the model 1537 shown below in sunburst finish. Originally call the "Wood Topped Adamas", it went to market as the first model called the "Elite".
So Elites were designed as wooden Adamii? And this is just a do-over of the 1537?
I also said way back during the Roadshow that I played the WT Adamas and it was/is a nice guitar. |

Location: SoCal | OMA, It was probably just the way you said it. I see it as an updated classic... a 1537 with a suspension ring, carved bridge, and hand laid fiberglass bowl. The Company sees more value in calling it an Adamas WT. No matter what they call them, I think we are in for some really nice US-Made Ovations. |

Location: NJ | no OMA you actually said they called it an Adamas instead of an elite because they wanted to charge 1K more that is incorrect the specs are different.
the problem is you don't give clear facts and that is confusing. I would rather you did not reply than give information that is bogus.
noah it is a different guitar. 1537 although a great guitar and highly sought after never had the specs of an Adamas until now. (unless you have the dreadnaught prototype that I have. ) |
