Location: Nahant, MA | I've enjoyed the summer and early fall with this beauty...so much so that I'm moving to a new c2079lx. That means this '81 Custom Legend is looking for a new home.
Rather than showcase my inferior photography skills, I defer to the master of the red blanket:

Yes, Scarface still sports the two distinctive marks on his face, although they have been smoothed out somewhat by Bill Whitsett of Whitsett Guitar works who also did a full setup. Plays beautifully and still includes the case and case candy as shown in Damon's ad. It's been a great introduction for me to Ovation and this group.
Looking for $650 + shipping. Guitar is in NH. |

Location: Nahant, MA | Sold! Although the home base will be in BC, Scarface will be spending the winter in Arizona by way of Oregon. Humidifier in place for the trip :-) |

Location: Vancouver Island, BC | Together at last. I am starting to see the light. The handlaid bowl, the hand picked top, the pre K-bar neck, A-bracing, the sound....
Sports a new "scar" courtesy of a week in the back of a UPS truck during the worst winter weather(a crack from bridge to lower bout edge along the grain). Doesn't matter. She rings like a bell. Bliss. A true classic.
I'll learn to fix the crack over time, till then I'll just enjoy!

Location: Vancouver Island, BC | Yeah, she's a beauty. Looking back, these guitars earned the name Legend honestly through the seventies. When damon first offered it, I could not do it, and I thought there wold be lots of them available over time. Not so...
She will not go down the path to destruction. This is the kind of guitar that deserves a trip back to the MS some time in th future when we are both ready.
One thing's for sure: once we get back to the Pacific North Wet, she'll never dry out again! |
