Near mint Cond. with Hardcase. Hardly Played. Never gigged, smokefree home. No issues.
Was $1600, would like to get 700 & ship for it. Local Pickup Fine.

Nice guitar. Good luck with the sale.

DragsterNJ - is that New Jersey? As in Englishtown raceway?

Haven't been there in 30 years but it brings back memories.

Best modern Ovation IMHO. Someone should snap this one up and keep it in the OFC family.

Well, this one didn't work out. Dragster just sent me a note saying he had a mishap with the guitar so we have to cancel our agreement. RATS!!
But I guess that'll just give me more money toward the Adamas II that I am buying from Al.

Too bad about the 07C. You're only buying one of those Adamas IIs? At that price you should put a couple in your shop besides one for yourself.

Very nice pics Drag. That's one beautiful guitar, and the sound they put out both plugged and unplugged is amazing. I don't think I'd let mine go for that low, but I understand that sometimes one has to make sacrifices to pay the bills. The person who buys this will be VERY pleased. The 2007 is also one of my guitars that a LOT of non-O players comment on for its beauty and sound.

I think my CE might be a little better, but someone should definitely grab this one!

Vince, AstroDan, read the whole thread. I had agreed to buy the guitar, had the cashier's check in the envelope, and then I got an email from dragster saying he had had a "mishap" with the guitar and the deal was off. I emailed back asking what had happened but never did get a reply.

Maybe he meant "misstep," as in; "I should have listed it at a higher price?" At least you hadn't mailed the check yet… The fact that he didn't just take the money and run may indicate some legitimacy… and I really hope he chimes in here with a better explanation… but…

This grumpy old Ovation fan (goOf!) finds it suspicious, or at least insincere, when someone joins the OFC one day, lists a guitar for sale the very next day, lowers the price 2 days later, accepts an offer 2 days after that, then has a "mishap" and backs out of the deal and disappears…

Maybe he accepted a PM with a better offer? That's not technically against any rules I guess, but I personally find that offensive on both the buyer's and seller's part if they were both aware that he'd already accepted a different offer. Seems to me that a deal agreed by PM is the equivalent of a handshake, which means a done deal in my book…

…or maybe it was confiscated as evidence… that would be a "mishap" I suppose…

Regardless, you're probably better off Alison, I hope you can still recover the funds from the cashiers check?…

Yeah Standing, all it cost me was $2 to have my bank issue the check. And everything works out the way it's supposed to. I really shouldn't have spent so much money on two guitars in one day. (I bought one of Al's Adamas specials.) And I KNOW I'm in good hands with Al. Can't wait to get THAT guitar in my hands.

Well I have learned the hard way not to assume anything ... but I'm very happy for you Allison, on avoiding any possible problem AND for snagging a new 1581 at a price like that. I just hope I can someday grab an Adamas Textured-top 12 String for a deal like that someday.

hmmmmm. i hate to jump the gun because:
i am a newbie here and may not be fair to this guy, but................
i am a longstanding member at a cpl other sites where sale of goods is prevalent.
this here pattern is disturbing as it reeks of bad karma.
new member posts a to sell and a deal is struck and then oh noes, a catastrophe occurs. worse yet, no reply from seller with explanation.
funny, though, the CL link is still good.
maybe he hurt his neck taking a cpl of those pics he posted.
agree with end game, at least Alison wasn't f-d over for 7 bills plus.

Well I personally will not pass judgement on the guy as no one REALLY knows what happened. Belieeeeeve me, I know how life can just go haywire sometimes, and just because one doesn't have time to get back and post on the OFC site, doesn't always mean someone is getting screwed. Sure, I'd like to hear eventually what happened also, but like you all said... in the end Allison got an Adamas 1581... What can more can I say? HAPPY ENDING.
