Buy this before I change my mind. Fantastic condition. One tiny blemish on the soundboard you've got to get within six inches to see. Sounds great. Comes in a 8158 case that came with the guitar when I bought it ... some damage/cracking on the underside of the headstock area but latches perfectly and protects the guitar. I'll also include a HARD COVER copy of the Walter Carter book, including dust jacket, with the deal. $1400 shipped. I prefer PayPal. Send me a PM if interested.

Timing is everything. At the beginning of the summer I was going to give the 87C to our daughter and would have loved this for a replacement. Her circumstances changed and she doesn't have room, so I kept the 87C and I got the 2010 Collector, so now I don't have room.

I'll take that 87c off your hands to help you make room for this one ;)

Good luck with the sale bobbo!

I believe there may be more of the guitars around than the hard cover book. This is a nice deal for someone wanting the pair.

Somebody grab this and make 2 dreams come true!

AJ not interested? Then I read carefully through his signature and saw he already has one. Did we see that already? I get confused when he brings out the herd - so many guitars, so little time.

It's still available. It's a good one so I won't be too disappointed if it doesn't sell, but I need to make some room for some other guitars that are on my radar. I've got some other Ovations that could go, too.

How about that 12-string that I loved? :)

No longer for sale. After looking inside again and asking a question I was just advised that this one is special.

What's special Bobbo?

Isn't yours the "ONE" that was used for the photo shoot? I thought we knew that and they don't get any better or more special than that!

Somebody should have grabbed this true piece of history while it was available.

Can't leave a pen out in the open with that guy around, can you? Beal, you should really be a little more careful about that.

Interesting proposition for you, bobbo...pm sent.

Hang onto it for a couple years. I'll have the mortgage and cars paid off, youngest graduated from school, she'll get the 87 for her 25th birthday and I'll have lots of extra cash. Sounds like a nice plan to me, anyway.

Hey Bob,

I got a friend of a friend who is looking at your guitar. If he buys it, it will be gigged heavily and probably never been seen or heard from again.

I would prefer to see you keep it or go to one of our members...............

but unless one of them steps up to the plate and makes a serious run....

Stephen,

Why would he want a Book Elite (read BLING) just to beat the crap out of gigging? That would be a real shame is this rare guitar didn't stay in the hands of a real ovation fan.

Lotta performers like a blingy guitar on stage. And if it's a great guitar (acoustic and amplified), then why leave it home. I may be going up north next month to see some friends and will probably bring the 87C....

Now that I'm clear on what I've got, if it's going anywhere it'll be to a true Ovation aficionado who will take care of it and cherish it for what it is. Aside from a pinhead sized top smudge, it's in perfect shape. It gets played regularly by me and is out handing with the rest of the guitars, but it'll need to be in the hands of the right person if it goes anywhere else.

My usual giggin' axe is the Al DiMeola. And in black. It doesn't get much blingier.

That said, my "Book" rarely sees the stage.
