Mike Seguin from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada here. I haven't posted anything lately, because I was,and still am preparing to do music at my church this coming Sunday. Changing strings on my guitars is always a challenge, but I do get it done. My guitar tech did a marvelous job on my 1990 Elite, and told me the Adamas #1818 Light Gauge Phoshor Bronze strings are still available, but I haven't seen them here in Canada for a long time. I did see the blue Adamas for sale with the so-called,"snotblob" pickguard I had asked about before. Which brings me to my questions:1) How much is an original mint-condition vinyl brown ADAMAS case cover worth? How come it is so hard to fit over the molded black guitar case? Was it just made for the older brown ones? I only used it twice because of that, but I really don't want to sell it unless know it might be wortth something. Any thoughts, opinions, etc. Thanks in advance for your help.
God Bless You,

They sell strings. Just strings.
The black case is thicker than the brown ones and the case cover was made for the brown cases.

However, if I got one, I know she'd want me to get a case cover cover (to protect the cover from scuffs).

even for my brown case, the cover needed to be gently stretched the first time.

Mike Seguin Here. Thanks for the quick reply and all the info. "Sellers remorse" has set in somewhat, and I do believe I will keep the brown case cover after all, because I need it to protect my own guitar case, which is getting pretty banged up afer 20 years now. It's a bit hard to stretch, yes, that is true, but it is my own unique piece of Ovation history, because I don't think they are made any more, but someone here at OFC will definitely correct me if I am wrong on that score. My Ovation Story #4, a la Star Wars, (you have to wait for story #1). When I got the case cover, in 1990, I actually got 2 of them, for each of the 2 Ovations I owned at the time. The Mothership told me they were the last 2 in the warehouse! I sold one in 2000, along with my Ovation Legend Classic Stereo Deep Bowl Cutaway. Bad move, I know. Did I just lose my membership here or what? As for the strings, my guitar tech did say he could get them here after all, but it would be a special order, with at least a 2 months wait, more like 6? for delivery to Canada. Patience is a virtue. The love of money is the root of all evil. Stupidity strikes when you least expect it, takes no prisoners, and leaves us all asking the burning question, "What the @#$%! was I thinkin'?" Thank God it is not contagious. Thanks OFC for al the help and support thus far.
