Ukuleles are also great to get kids started on. I've got 4 neighborhood kids ages 7-9 that come over to my house and I teach them ukulele. Easy to hold and fret. I've tuned them low G so basically I'm teaching the 4 treble strings of the guitar and they just love it. I set them up with Kala ukes for about $175. each.

Hey, don't get me wrong. I certainly wouldn't be suspicious of YOU hanging out with a bunch of defenseless little kids...
But that ukulele thing. There's got to be some kind of child protection laws that address this...

Do these little trekkers sound any good?
For exmaple, I know the mini Martin and the Baby Taylor sound pretty good for such small guitars. But I've also seen many little guitars that sound like trash. So I'm not sure where this one fits in.

We had one and it sounded surprisingly good for a small guitar and a couple of hundred bucks. It had a mid-depth bowl and an OP-24+ preamp. Not sure if this is the same model or not.
