Couldn't find my other thread, so I just thought I would check again to see if anyone would be interested in trading their deep bowl Elite for my 2005 Collector's model.

Mainly interested in a 1768 or CE768 or something like that. Mainly looking for a natural finish top and a preamp more recent than the OP24. Anyone interested?

I know what you mean...figures. At this point, I would probably take it if it were natural.

I really wish my '05 was an Elite...love the sound, just prefer the look of the multi-soundholes. Never been so superficial over a guitar before.

You may want to check out that 1537 on Ebay. You could possibly pick it up cheap and play it until you can sell your 05 and then send the Elite to the MS later on down the road. It probably sounds really nice just the way it is.

Here's another potential good looking deal ...
Ebay - Elite

I'd be all over the 1537 if it were a cutaway.

Then it'd be a 1547.

nosajwp, you've been trying to swap that '05 for as long as I can remember.

Why don't you try something different - like SELL it?

Put a price on it and it'll sell. Then you can buy whatever butters your muffin. You're really limiting your options with trying to trade it, especially when you're looking for a specific model in return.

Funny how it's different strokes for different folks. I just sold a deep bowl Elite down here and kept my '05, mainly coz I prefer the look of the single hole. The Elite was a better guitar in many ways, but there's something real nice about the '05s.

Just put it on ebay with no reserve.

The '05 was really the first of the "new breed" ovations and I'm not sure they have done any better since. Very nice guitar

I've tried selling it and trading it, here and on many other guitar-related sites and Craigslist with no success.

Maybe it has a curse on it...

You might try to set up an OFC Key Party...

All volunteers throw in one instrument and then you draw for a 2 month swap.
You may never see her again but you'll get to try several other guitars.

All I have to trade you are mono holes and Dual hole guitars.

An OFC jam is nearly a key party. More like a guitar orgy maybe. Take your '05 to one and you'll have a lot of people giving it a test drive. GAS hits a lot harder when the guitar is inyour hands.

Also would be interested in a deep bowl Elite (or maybe even a Legend) 12 string with a cutaway.

Forgot to add to my last post that I would also sell it for $700 shipped to the lower 48.

There's a reason you can't rid yourself of this guitar. It's a message from above....

Keep it, play it and get to love it. It is one of the best wood topped Ovations out there.

You may be on to something there...

Too bad O's don't have "quick change" tops with the composite bowls, where you could swap a Legend top for an Elite or Adamas top depending on your mood.
