Location: Steeler Nation, Hudson Valley Contingent | I will NEVER say never again. Until this week, I thought this was a locked in keeper. But since these occasionally show up for sale, there's always a chance of replacing it. Still finding one in this condition is going to be REALLY tough. The only issue it has are some of those tiny little cracks that show up in the neck binding near the dot markers. Otherwise, it's perfect!
I took it to John and Kim when I got it for a going over, and they didn't even take it. They just handed it back saying it was as close to perfect as these get. I'll let the pictures do the talking. I've put a few new ones up below, but others can be found right here.
I've boasted about this beauty several times because it deserves it. Here's a link to my first post the day I received it... April, 2008.
This is my description from another post where I was comparing it to a 1537:
"Take up the 1987 Collector's and listen to a lady who really knows how to sing! I presume the smaller epaulette at the cutaway lends to the greater bass response, but there is no doubt that this one has the brightest tone of the three. Each note, whether flat-picked or finger-picked, is perfectly distinct from the others. It's like listening to a well-seasoned and impeccably trained voice. She's loud. She's bright. She rings as clear as a bell all the way up the fretboard! If guitars were sopranos, with all that voice and all that bling, she'd be THE diva."
It comes with its hardshell case (including an engraved luggage tag) which is in also in great, though not new, shape.
As I said in my other "For Sale" ad, these are very rare, and I'm asking what it's worth. I know about the economy, but the worst that will happen is I get "stuck" with it, and I've been stuck in FAR worse situations, that's for sure. Patch's layaway is available. Shipping is included in the continental US. I'll ship overseas, but it is SERIOUSLY costly anymore so be prepared for a humbling shipping quote.
$1450 OBO. (No low balls please, this is too nice an instrument.)
And the first pic I ever took of it.

Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | I'll vouch for Patch's payment plan. It worked out great for me ... even though it drove me crazy, waiting to pay it off. It actually encouraged me to work harder though to pay it off faster. Thanks again Patch. It would probably be more descriptive to call it "Patch's Layaway Plan" though. |

Location: Seymour, Tennessee | Beautiful guitar, I am soo very glad I got mine.
It will go out for it's neck reset when I get back from school in Virginia.
Whoever gets this one is gonna be really happy.
Kinda like a very beautiful woman that you get to play with whenever you want to.
Good luck with the sale.
Shoot who knows, maybe I'll end up selling mine to finance the blue Adamas I've always wanted (though I doubt it, this one is gonna be a keeper too I think)and you'll get a chance to replace this one :) |
