1114-4 in Excellent condition with an almost invisible finish crack (won't even show up in a picture) and a small flaw in the finish in the center of the headstock (also won't show). Has ohsc, in good condition.
Features :
-12th Fret Body Joint (very popular these days)
-Wide Classical Style Fingerboard (also popular)
-Slotted Peg Head (ditto)
-no belly on top, perfectly flat
when I bought this guitar, the music store owner (a friend) told me that it was in a closet for 20 years. The strangest thing was that it had old classical strings on it, and even then sounded great.
Why am I selling you ask? well I tried in 2007, and the deal fell through for some reason. To be honest this guitar is a bit hard for me to play, as the neck is a bit wide. Also, I have been eyeing Martins for years, and would like to start saving to purchase one. |

As long as it's in the condition you say, I'll take it.
(Sorry Cliff.)
You don't have to ship to Australia, just Manhattan.
(Sorry Cliff)
I'll PM you tonight (my time) as I'm at work and just about to go into class. |

Whether or not it's sold to ME is still up in the air.

Seems to me that muzza was first to say he'll take it. If you accepted that deal, Gary's offer is irrelevant regardless of the offer.
What's to consider? |

Before I asked those questions, I didn't see anything that said this guitar was sold. |

But we all know what happens when you assume... |

Location: Michigan | I don't know exactly what to say. I have to conversations pleasantly going on through pm and email. And I have a difficult descision to make. It may look like I'm dithering or playing people against each other, but since people posting here aren't privy to the entire conversation ( and I have no intention of posting any part of a private business transaction) I posted this ad at the same time I replied to muzza's post, thinking he was in austrailia. So please, don't assume anything underhanded is going on. |

Location: Michigan | SOLD TO MUZZA! I almost wonder if my indecision was based partially on having second thoughts. My wife and I each spent about 30 minutes playing the 1114, saying goodbye, then I packed it up, and to console myself, I spent a half hour staring at Martins in the Elderly Catalog. Here's a pic of the baby in her crib ...

They are bad for the environment, they make a HUGE mess, and they settle in shipping just like cereal in the box, so they don't even do a very good job protecting what they are designed to protect. Whoever invented them should be forced to eat nothing but packing peanuts as a steady diet until they are eradicated from the planet. (Oh, am I grumpy today? And I'M not even the one who will have to deal with these. Cliff, I agree - send them back, but make sure he knows there is something in the middle of the box that will make it worth opening. :D ) |

Location: closely held secret | The peanuts in that box are worthless anyway. The vulnerable points are the front and back of the case, not the perimeter. All the peanuts you can fit in that box won't stop that forklift blade from going through.
The best method is the one the factory uses, secure the case in the box by making a recess for the case at the bottom out of stout cardboard, and a collar at the top keep the guitar centered in the box. |

I've sent an email trying to describe how to do it but my descriptive skills Seem to have abandoned me. |

Your guitar arrived in NewJersey this morning and is sitting behind me, in it's case acclimating (it's about 50-degrees today, after a rather chilly night). Will pop-open th'case once it's had a chance t'WarmUp . . .
btw;
stryrofoam peanuts (especially, those LITTLE ones - th'size of pencil erasers) are absolutely th'Devil'sSpawn. |

C'mon Cliff. You're killin me.
Tell me more, PUUHLEEZE?
(BTW, do you have any Ovation guitar cartons laying around? The Folklore will have to be checked in when Rob returns as he's got a few days in Hong Kong. I'm not too keen to have the guitar just protected by the case.)
I reckon you've got nearly 6 weeks to decide if you want one or not.
Enjoy it Cliff, and THANKS. |
