Ovation DS-768 Longneck Baritone for sale.

6-String acoustic/electric baritone guitar with cutaway;

Solid AA spruce top with natural finish and two, 5-piece multi-soundhole epaulets;

Mid-depth roundbowl composite back;

Quintad bracing;

5-piece neck;

Ebony fretboard with maple inlays;

Walnut headstock with gold machine tuners;

Walnut bridge with compensated saddle;

28 1/3" scale length;

1 11/16" nut;

Optima onboard preamp with 4-band equalizer, volume control, adjustable notch, with both low-z and high-z outputs;

Built-in chromatic tuner;

Padded ovation luggage-case with key; and

Truss adjustment tool.
The guitar and case are both in excellent plus condition - it's been so babied that the original price tag that was attached to the tuners is still in the case!
The soundboard is flawless, there is virtually no fret wear and the neck is straight and true. The only 'flaw'is that the finish on the gold tuner buttons has begun to tarnish slightly. It is currently strung with DiAddario EJ18 Phosphor Bronze heavy strings and tuned to B - and I will include two new sets of these strings with the instrument.
The instrument has always been kept in its case when not being played within a smoke and pet free home and has never been gigged.
Photos available on request.
Any reasonable offer will be considered. |

Location: Orange County, California | Dangit!!! It's still here. All I've got to offer at this time is the C2078LX that Ovation gave me. I would reluctantly include the winning raffle ticket from the '06 factory tour with it.
I seriously appreciate the gift, but this (and everybody knows it) was not a guitar I would have ever bought for my self. It's just too nice. I almost traded it to Mike C for the Elite T he'd just bought from Al.
Since the Koa Slothead came home, this guitar is "wall art" for me. I just don't reach for it anymore. In fact, it's currently on loan to a bro whose 1974 1121-1 Artist (his only guitar) is at the Mothership having it's top replaced (AAA Spruce, A-braced) under warranty.
Anyone want to talk about a 3-way deal? |

Baritones are really cool and you should own one. |

Location: South of most, North of few | Thanks guys, I've been looking for one in natural finish for a while. Missed one on Ebay earlier that went cheaper, but I don't think it was in as nice a shape. Then there was the last one that went for over 1k.. :eek: I've seen them go for somewhere in the neighborhood of 650 before, but it seems they are getting harder to find in nice condition. |

Arnaud, thanks. I had a few ssb standard configuration guitars, and since I don't plug in that much, I prefer the deeeeeep bowls! Never did play a baritone before, but looking forward to it. I'm in the car on vacation now heading to BeginJM's so I'll have to wait a week or so. |

Let me know how you like it after you play it. I've been a little interested in one myself. |

now is the time to start saving up your nickels and let me know of your interest or email me in a couple months. |

You might want to get in line on Stephen's though, he has some nice guitars! |

Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | HOLY COW STEVEN! Are you starting a guitar store or WHAT? I just checked out your gallery. Man ... If I were you my wife would have cut off my testicles a long time ago. I DO like your longneck though. Could you tell me the difference in how that sounds in comparison to a regular deep bowl Elite? Is it tuned differently. My guess is that it rumbles on the low notes. |
