| Hi,
I'm having problems with my wifes adamas 1598. It isn't detecting phantom power at all. I have checked the power from the desk and it's OK and the cable checks ok. Any ideas?
Thanks |

Location: closely held secret | On the XLR cable, pin 1 needs to be tied to the shell. About 1/2 the cables I've come across are not wired this way.
You can check this with a multi-meter or a continuity tester. If it's not tied, you can do it yourself if you can handle a soldering iron.
Or, I believe Al also has some very nice cables for sale that are already wired this way. |

| Hi
Thanks for the reply. I've tied pin 1 to the shell at the instrument end with no success and checked the continuity from pin 1 to shell which is OK.. The voltage from the mixer is reading 45v which should be within the tolerance for phantom power. Do I need to do pin 1 to the shell at both ends???
The op pro turns on when the xlr is inserted but the led does turn green. I've tried a different op pro in the guitar and that does the same :-S
Thanks in advance |
