deacon pre-amp

When I recieved it it had been rewired and the preamp, battery unit,and phase switch were missing. Is there a site anywhere that still makes these? They don't make them any more and the ones they did make have some issues that will limit their longevity (contact surface in the pots). Finding second hand and repairable units is a chore. You can estimate about $200 for a working set of pups and circuit board. No, wait. It just rose to $210 since I wrote this. Welcome though! You can build a unit that's close though. I have seen Stewmac and Carvin provided units for active systems but I have no idea how they rate against the Ovation stuff. I rerwired the humbuckers gibson style to eliminate the buzz. MWOODY,did you mean that the carvin and stewmac active boards can be patched into an ovation? has anyone done this? I may have to try. Nothing to lose. This means you are now authorized for solo soldering during daylight hours as long as the iron used does not exceed 15 watts.
