OK, I've read the ebay post now. The Brits have a word for this. Bollocks! |

You must ask yourself if this guy knows what he's talking about... |

You are so right. CWK2 has long been a poser. You'd think he'd work'd there.
I would, however, suggest you delve a little deeper into past threads on related topics |

First question:
Recalling the famous #47 Adamas guitar, who is touted to have said it was his favorite?
Second question:
From the answer of question #1, what would be the initials of his namesake?
Only first answers count, no guessing.

Location: SoCal | Thought you guys might enjoy an email exchange from Big O.
His first email
"I don't give a shit who he is because his father probably was'nt informed about the deal. I'm sure the Kamans did'nt call all the shots around that factory, he was engineer and owner. That's why corporations have business minds in the mix to PR and sign legal stuff. I'm a McCartney fan from way back when and have read enough to know the difference."
My reply:
"Well, hell, then you know it all. I'm impressed. But not much. Bill grew up at that factory and was deeply involved from the early 70's until the late 90's. Not the corporate office. The factory. But you go on knowing it all. You're fun to read. Makes for a good laugh."
His last email:
"I'm sure that you're good friends with him as well so you keep sticking it out.
The fact may be he was so involved around there, that does'nt make him
knowledgable of all that went down. He can probably tell us how to build a
guitar but I know for a fact that he does'nt know all that went down around the
business. So you keep gunning for him and laughing at me and showing your
ignorance. Think about it, why is it that he does'nt know about the scrolled
bridge and its design? He sure as hell did'nt have answer. As far as sticking a
foot in ones mouth, you know where you can cram yours."
Shall we see what else he has to say? |

McCartney readily admits that he's not much of a "GearHead", and for the most part (other than his Hofner bass) will pretty much use whatever's around . . . |

I also have another theory here.CWK2 leaves Ovation and "retires" .Soon after a guy comes on TV selling this line of guitars called Estaban.Has anyone ever seen Bill and Estaban at the same place at the same time???One wonders who's behind the dark glasses and hat??? conspiracy? I think not.. |

Location: 6 String Ranch | Sorry I didn't get back sooner, had to go to church this evening, played my Collings dreadnaught on the mountain top (OK have at that one too, I know I should have used the 84! What was I thinking?)
If I had ya'll wouldn't have had such a good time though.
As I recall it, but I could be wrong.
1. Linda never came to the factory (she might have on the week I went to shcool that year)
2. She did order two guitars for Paul, or maybe it was just one and then added the other later(a 6 and 12)
3. The scroll design was Rickard's
4. I don't think that what Paul got was any different from regular production at the time.
5. Paul is not a guitar guy, never has been so thousands have not passed into his hands. He just doesn't care about the hardware, it's what it does that's important to him.
In a very nice email to me Big O says that the company should have better info on their web pages about the history. I agree.
Now I'm off to bed. |

Ovation and Adamas has such a wonderful history of instruments and performers that is not reflected in the "timeline".
As this started concerning the 30 Anniv CL, this guitar is the finest blending of the three decades and present - a Custom Legend that respects the past yet is the ultimate Custom Legend. The factory did a great job. Thank you. |

I've been tempted to chime-in on how much of a total ASS someone's been during this whole exchange, but due to the fact that he's gone and conveniently deleted his initial insipid posts, I suspect he already knows it . . . |

If you're looking to discuss guitars in general and specifically Ovations from a lot of pretty darn smart people, you will find no better place than here. But be prepared to witness incessant razzing no matter who you are. It's all meant to be in good fun. |

Early on I used to make an ass out of myself around here and take some shit. The only difference some 3000 and something times later is that I still do it but people don't care anymore. Life is good.
I hated the CL when it came out in '74. I thought it was an insult to the Legend. Then when Mac played one I was really disappointed because real Beatles don't play plastic guitars. Then I bought an '83 CL and fell in love with it because it was so beautiful, Now I own an '05 CLLXCB and it's one of the best damn sounding guitars I own. Go figure.
