Location: Mt Clemens, MI USA | I'm selling my cedar balladeer (with case). It's about two months old. It plays and sonds nice, but it has a nick in the soundboard wich was "repaired" but not too well. I'll probably throw it on e bay once I figure out how to do it. I'm looking to get 400 for it. Anybody interested let me know. I'll try to get some picks of it, post ding. soon. I really like the guitar but the ding just bums me out too much.
Open to trades too.

| How bad is the ding? was it a cya(superglue)fix or some other fill/repair? condition ok otherwise? action? I'm interested. possibly trade for a late 70's preacher deluxe? pics in my gallery.
Thanks,
God Bless,

Location: Warren,Pa. | I love this guitar...every time I'm near a GC I stop in to see if they have one for me to play. One day I fear I'll buy it ( 12 months same as cash...how can you resist?). If you really like it, why don't you send it to the Mother Ship and have them fix it. It'll be good as new. John <>{

Location: Orlando, FL | I thought I remembered that thread. Thumb, I remember how excited you were about your new guitar and how bummed you were about the ding. Guess you were never able to look at her the same again, huh? Kinda like Elvis after Pricilla had a baby.
Good luck with your sale, it's still a beautiful guitar.

Location: Mt Clemens, MI USA | Yes, I really love this guitar. It looks cool, sounds nice and plays nice, esp mine the action is good. The nick was filled in with that colored furniture wax stuff. What happened is, I was just calling around to see about a possible repair. I took it to a furniture repair guy near by. I just wanted his opinion. The guy took the guitar in the back with him, I thought to maybe ask his collogues opinion. He was gone a while and he came out with the thing filled. I did not ask him to DO anything; I just anted his opinion on if it could be repaired decently. When he filled it, he must have rubbed the area with something, maybe to clean excess, I don’t know, anyway the dip put like a fine, fine area of scratches in the area of the repair. The fill is OK, depending how the light hits it, but the finish needs buffing or something. The thing that pisses me off is I did not tell this guy to actually do anything. The guitar shop, which I contacted later, said they would have filled it with superglue. He was going to try to make it look better but was afraid to do it since I was so picky.
I played some other cedar s771s thinking I’d just buy another, (one yr same as cash!) They sounded great—and looked so nice without the nick—god it is such a bummer, but the action on mine was better, and that’s what is kind of holding me from getting a new one. I suppose the action could be adjusted, but then, that’s more cash blah, blah blah.
I’d send mine to Ovation, I did contact them, but by the time I send and send back and pay for a repair, I may as well sell it and buy a new one.
I'm not sure what to do, I'm getting headaches fretting (nice pun ay!) over it!
