Hello, I am new to this forum. I have a very nice Adamas II 12-string (1685-5) for sale. This guitar is very rare, b/c it is a deep bowl with out cut-away. Very low s/n. (87, I think?)I purchased it directly from the Ovation factory in CT back in 1998. I have hardly played it. (I have another much older Elite 12 that is like a spouse to me). The action is excellent and very low. Intonation is perfect. Lots of beautiful sympathetic vibrations. Carbon fiber top that resonates like a Taylor. Preamp is very pristine, with accurate built in tuner and notch filter to control feedback. XLR out for D.I. (either 9V batt. or phantom power). And I should mention that the best thing about this guitar is that it stays in tune for days and days and I have never broken a string on it, live or in rehearsal. I will have pictures very soon to send out. The only alteration I made to it was that I stained the top of the headstock black (not over the ADAMAS inlay) to match the black body. I didn't care for the natural wood color. Anyone interested? $1400 or B/O.

Thanks, Derek.

Good luck with your sale. I own the identical model guitar and I can back you up that it's a great guitar. But before you sell it you should have it serviced. I think there may be something seriously wrong with it if it resonates like a Taylor. Check inside for yourself (remove the back cover). Maybe there is a giant piece of foam rubber or something sucking up all the sound. Dave

PS - Welcome to the OFC.

Thanks standingovation. I should be clearer on what I meant by resonating like a Taylor. The guitar is tip-top. Played five shows with it and used it occasionally as a back up for rehearsing. The use of carbon fiber allows for a very thin and very strong top. No warping. Taylor guitars have a very thin wood top, allowing it vibrate and sustain like angels, but if not properly cared for and humidified, it can lead to a severely warped or cracked guitar. The carbon fiber is light and very strong. Very good idea for design. Cheers, D.

Hey, I was just funnin' with you a bit. Welcome to the club. You'll enjoy it here and soon learn there is plenty of Adamas knowledge in this club and most will know exactly how nice your guitar is and I'm sure you will have no trouble selling it. Dave

PS - I'm curious about the back peghead. Can you post a photo in the members section?
