This CC 65 Celebrity 12 String is the cleanest, minty-est pre-owned unit I've ever seen...I picked it up from a collector who rarely played it - never out of the house (only driven on Sunday, etc.!)

Check it out...I'll split the S & H with an OFC member - Check my feedback (and the gloss in the photo's!).

Okie dokie, Norse...if there was a guitar that would be tempting to offer with a money-back guarantee - this might be the one! It's that clean & sweet of a deal...it's just too big for my little frame. !Vio con Dios, Amigo!

Mistergolf007,

Your guitar Looks real nice. I have to say, I am a little uncertain of the Celebrity class Ovations. I like the idea it is a deep bowl though. How does it sound unplugged? good bass?

I'll be watching the auction close. Thanks for the heads up!

If you want a US built 12 string, you're going to have to make up your mind to spend $450-$600. Which is still dirt cheap for the guitar you'll get. Unless you want 12 fret 12 string from the 1970's. You might be able to do that for $350. But I'd go for a early 80's or newer guitar.

Yea, it was hard watching that 12 Legend go for $411.00, the 12 Custom Legend for around $400.00, and an Elite 1537 for a little over $400.00 and not being able to do anything about it. I just don't have that kind of cabbage right now.

Of course, this is not just reality, but whinning on my part so I'll go away now.

Peace,

Dear Norse~ I admit, I too was pretty skeptical with the Korean versions - but here's some of my experience...

I have a MCS148 mandolin, and having played Matt Smith's MM68 - they play and sound almost identical and his is three times the price (no offense, Matt!)

At a gig last weekend, I played a set with a friend's similar vintage USA Deluxe Balladeer - and my 12 plays and sounds Waay Mo' Bettah!

In both cases, I believe that the sound and feel is due in large part to the quality of the strings combined with the set-up at the nut & saddle, plus the truss rod tension being set perfectly for the string guage and playing style.

That being said, I'm very confident that the new owner will be very pleased with this one - so much so - that I stake my feedback reputation on it.

So, live dangerously (way out on the edge!) and I'm sure you'll live happily ever after...

Regarding the deep bowl - it's certainly got the full room sound unplugged - and yep, it got da bass, mon! Mahalo, Y'all :D

P.S. My "Buy It Now" includes the cost of S/H, and is not that far off my reserve + shipping. So, one might play it safe by pulling that trigger...Peace, Love & Open D~

Norsey,
I feel bad about posting the alert on the Legend.
I didn't know it would become such a hot topic and I didn't realize you already had a bid on it.I am also looking for a lower priced 12. This is probably the best your gonna' find for a guaranteed used guitar. Please hurry up and buy it so I don't have to worry about bidding against you ;)

Bill,

Thanks for the post. Don't feel bad, as you did nothing wrong. And don't worry about bidding against me, or buying this guitar right now. I am praying about the situation, and when I know it's right for me, I will pull the trigger. If this guitar is right for you (and it sounds absolutely great!) go for it, don't worry about 'ol Norseman (though I appreciate it). He who hesitates... but on the other hand, I've learned to be patient. I may miss out on some good deals, but I believe in the long run, I'll end up with what's right for me.

Thanks again Bill, and Good Luck!

I totally agree...when in doubt - PRAY! If one doesn't have peace about something, it's probably for a reason!

This is the CC65 I am selling.

I am asking $225.00 without the HSC..I need the case for my Legend..besides the case is somewhat damaged. Anyway, the guitar is still in the same condition as when I bought it from Kurt.

I have a Pacemaker now thanks to Trboy, and a CS255 12, along with the Yamaha 12 string I bought when I was 17 years old. I don't need 4 twelves. I'd sell my CS255, but it needs a neck reset (didn't realze it could not be adjusted any further at the time I bought it) so who would want to buy it?! The Yamaha is absolutely impossible to play, sounds like crap, but it has much sentimental value. The Pacemaker...well...it's a Pacemaker! She looks like the long lost sister of my 1981 1117, and even though she received several finish cracks (being shipped in a -35 below snap a few winters back) she sounds great...not as easy to play as the CC65 though, the CC65 has great action!

Anyway, I would think this is a very good price for the guitar? If not, please someone tell me what's up.

Thanks,

Norse(planning for the future)man1

Kurt,

I don't have the ability to post a picture right now, but the attached link is like a carbon copy of the guitar
http://cgi.ebay.com/Ovation-Celebrity-CC-65-12-String-Acoustic-Elec...

Remember, it's the one that the case got damaged during shipping?

Woody, you got first crack at this guitar if you are still interested...just let me know...see the Red-Headed Step Child post for details.

Dear Norsie~ I remember why I let this one go in the first place...the DeepBowl Size of this 12 was just a bit much for my 5'7" frame...

It's a Grrreat Steal of a Deal on the price you're offering...someone will now doubt Camp Real Happy with this one! Best wishes~ Mr. G
