I'm looking for a replacemnent saddle for a 1974 Electric Country Artist 1624. I got an E-mail today from Ovation customer service stating that the saddle was no longer currently available but an updated saddle/pickup combo was. I hate to dispose of a good pickup if it isn't necesary. If someone on the site might have a spare saddle, drop me a line.

Thanks,
Patsbro

Dear Patsbro~ I believe I may have a spare from a `73 A/E Artist, could you shoot me a photo via e-mail so I can compare what your looking for...a shot of the Bridge and a shot of the saddle would be helpful...Keep your fingers crossed, and Keep In Tune~ Kurt (e=kurtroddy@hotmail.com)

Mistergolf007,

Thanks for the offer for a saddle from your Artist. Unfortunately I'm sure it won't work. My Electric Country Artist falls in the category of a "classical" guitar with a flat fretboard thus requiring a flat saddle. The one from your Artist is more likely sloped - high in the middle/low on the edges due to the curved fingerboard on the steel string models. I think I'll wind up "biting the bullet" and just order a complete assembly from Ovation. Again thanks for the offer.

Sorry, Patsbro...your right, the 1624 & 1621 DO NOT have the same saddle spec's...Have you sought to have your existing one repaired?!? If you need some resources - let me know...Vio con Dios~ ;)
