I have to say that the 1680 has proven to be the best (to me) sounding Ovation guitar out there. I've had this guitar up against the 47RI,Olson,Charis,Collings,Wingert and just about every other guitar that Dream Guitars carries. I say if you want to step up or down, this guitar is one of the best bangs for the buck out there !!
Just sayin'

Glad you liked it better than all the others.

I prefer the Adamas sound over any others in the Ovation line.

The way you play it certainly doesn't hurt the sound, Keith.

Keith, yours is the best 1680 of the other 4 or 5 I've played, owned, or heard. Better hold on to it this time.

+1 Although Iffy's is a pretty close second.

Just looking at all the price points, this guitar really stands out to me. When you pay 1800.00 plus for any guitar,it should stand out. This one really resonates acoustically and plugged in. I've had to get used to the VIP..I'm pretty sure it's smarter than I am..

Less is more. Keep the image slider less than 50% and try bumping up the treble just a touch. In my 2080 this seems to be the right mix. Too much image and it sounds odd. Just right is magic.

The 1680 sounds really good with the OP Pro Studio as well. Plugged in or not, it sounds just fine to me. I was pleasantly surprised at the tone and feel of the instrument. Well worth the money spent.
