Jonmark, Thank you so much for all your help, I really appreciate it.

Opened the box up tonight... the top is awesome.
Your photo captures the delicate, but abundant, figuring of the top.

Congrats! These little things are great instruments and dare you not to stare at them. Coincidentally, I plan on re-stringing mine today.

On a side note, I wish Ovation made other LTD instruments like these, you know? I love the mandolins and mandocellos and would love to see a LTD 12-string or baritone along these lines. I know a few "Book" versions exist, but there are no others like them that I've seen outside of custom orders.

That top has quite a personality. I've come around to Moody's POV though regarding the neck. You should definitely consider getting it glossed...

Glad to help Bruce. I'll keep my eyes open for other ways to spend your money.

I will gloss the face of the headstock to match the top, but I am not a fan of glossed necks.

I really have to say The Natural Tops have my eye so much more than the Red on I have. Its just finish preference as they all are amazing instruments. I am finally using mine now in the set lists. I get to play and sing "The Battle Of Evermore" with a guitar accompanyment and a local woman who has an amazing voice. As soon as that little Zoom gets here we plan to make this the frist recording on the web site and an overall introduction to the band project and example of our diverse set lists.

These MM68 Mando's sound way better than the old F hole Fender I used to use. Even the purists can't argue the sounds these make.
It's a slam-dunk just like the Adamas 1688's are. They stand WAY out as soon as you play the first notes.
Nice instrument Noah, Enjoy my friend! If yourself, or any member, ever wants a beautiful Red Top in trade for a Natural I'll do it.
