I am looking for someone to fix some minor issues with my '79 Legend.
I heard that there is an Ovation expert luthier somewhere in Melbourne, Australia. Does anyone here have his/her(?) contact details?
Cheers

I don't know about an Ovation expert but the luthier I know has done fantastic work on an old one of mine that had a broken neck and I have seen other Ovastions in there also.
I have no hesitation in saying go and see Jim Cargill
Cargill Custom Guitars
4 Nabila Avenue Seaford,
Phone/Fax: +61 (0)3 9786 1710
He is a really fantastic bloke, very genuine and will not rip you off.
Where in Melb are you?
And what AJ said - look for the Downunder group |

Location: Melbourne | Hi All,
thanks for the tips, I will get down to joining the group.
I didn't realise that Ovations had such an avid following in Oz -- I imagine that I would be more enthusiastic about it all too if my Legend was in a playable condition. :)
I live in Kew, so Seaford is a bit of a hike for me, but maybe I can coordinate it with a trip to the seaside.
Cheers

Tommy Tommy, a word of advise. Watch out for the Flackster. He's one mean Aussie dude! He's scared the crap out of the croc's ;) |

Tommy, welcome to the madhouse! Hope you hang around. If you get up to Queensland (don't forget your passport) you should visit the Ovation museum aka AJ's house. |
