Location: Right now? | HAPPY VALENTINES DAY
I found a bow and a little wooden arrow
in a store that was full of nothing that I was there for
I bought it for a song
I had saved up in a pocket
and I tucked it in my coat like a sniper with a rocket
I walked around the cold, cold town just a maiden on a mission
Consumed with ideas of revenge and redemption
But you've gotta learn to shoot first if you're aiming to kill
I practiced on a target in a park with empty benches
and the little wooden arrow closed in each time by inches
then one day the little arrow found the mark of his endeavor
and the crazy idle beau, he was blinded forever
I sat out on a hunt
with my arrow and my bow
to end my sad, sad fallen one who hurt me long ago
but then I knew I never could have killed them all along,
so I returned the bow and arrow and the store gave back this song
I walked around the cold cold town just a maiden who was wishin'
she had never had ideas of revenge and redemption
I shoulda never messed with Cupid's arrow all along,
I returned the bow and arrow and the store gave back my song.

Maybe it's a good thing you couldn't get the car out of the garage to see Cliff |

Today I'll practice/play love songs on my cherry burst (perfect color for Valentine's Day) Elite 2079LX (see, Al, I AM on topic) and hope some day for a sweetheart of my own.
Poor, poor, pitiful me.

don't be sad, be happy and enjoy the life!
Be happy, that you can do what you want to, and spend your money in nice guitars, shoes or whatever you want without asking anyone else for it.

Good woman, must be able to milk cows and work the land. Also play Ovation guitar. Please send picture of guitar. |

the woman I'm looking for must have so much money, that I don't have to go working any more.
And must be very pretty, sexy, and....and....and...
still alive.

Might be easy picking too.

"Lovin' don't last;
good cookin' do."
I refuse to let the inferences of this day get to me--after all, "1" is a whole number, not a fraction; I have a world full of friends, plenty of musicians to jam with, my "lil' folks" who call me "Gramma," more Ovations than I ever dreamed of having (ask me about the free blond Viper that showed up here yesterday)......and the rest of my life to look forward to.
So, for anyone else who also finds him/herself alone today, here's a hug from someone who is very happy to have "met" you, and wishes for the best day ever.

Location: Budd Lake, NJ | About three years ago I bought a Viper off Ebay; Robbie had just bought one, and when he decided to sell his, his case was original, it was stripey maple, the knobs were original, so, I sold mine to my son who was going to learn to play it for the same price I paid for mine. Happy son, happy mom.
I sold the second one to someone here, and contentedly played the Tornado--until last week, when, all of a sudden, she won't play anymore; it's something with the jack (a subject for a whole new thread.) Needing an electric in a hurry, I call my son, asking if I can borrow his--so, when he brought it up yesterday, I asked him if he'd mind if I kept it. "Mom, I've had it for three years and can't play it--sure, you can keep it." (As in, permanently--and it's mine to sell if I want to.)
The body is in really great shape; the case is the shallow Ovation electric case, but from something bigger, judging from how the inside is configured. The knobs aren't original, and right now the bridge pick-up isn't working--but as long as the neck one hangs on until Sunday, I'm good. Hmmm...maybe the new thread should read, "Help--Tornado and Viper bite dust."
Anyway, who needs Vikings (or roses) when there's a new guitar in the house? ;)

And Willa, put down the sharp sticks and just be who you am. You'll poke yer eye out!
So what did I do for Valentine's day (he asked with a juanty air)? I got delivery Saturday of an interesting Viper that was missing it's pickups, then I got busy and put her back in action.
We still had time to have a dinner, flowers, candy and take the Grandson out to jump in puddles and tire himself out. |

Location: Hot Springs, S.D. | I had a GREAT Valentines Day! I came down here to the shop on my day off, just to check e-mails, headlines, and the board. While I was here a guy came in and bought a guitar (Washburn). Then I went home and played a bunch of guitar, fed the cat, read a good book, and talked to a friend on the phone. After that, I went to play guitar with a friend. Don't need candy, don't want overpriced roses. Even when I was happily married, I always told my husband(s) that Valentines Day was just an excuse to sell cards and flowers, and I didn't want to play. |

Willa, when ya go fishing you usually want to use the proper bait. I don't think black eye photos are gonna attract the type of fish you want to catch. |

You THINK I'M FISHING?!!! ON HERE? Geez, I just wrote "Happy Valentine's Day"
I already have a crush on a G-E-N-I-U-S, but I would have to be in a hair-pullin' fight with his girlfriend, so I will just have to imagine.
And that's all I have to write about THAT.

That's funny, cuz Whitehead told me the EXACT same thing.
(Only he said that after a few years - and the stench dissipated - it really wasn't too bad . . . ) |
