I'd never heard that one before--thanks for posting it. Really liked it.

That's pretty darn cool. I sang backup for him all the time in my car about that same timeframe. Harry didn't care for my singing, but he was too kind to complain. ;) |

He never had to, the 8-track would eat the tape and I'd know it was time to shut up.
I sure miss those days and I miss the song writing styles of Chapin and Croce.

Location: Boise, Idaho | I loved listening to him back in the 70s, but recently realized I no longer had any of his albums, so I got several for Father's day. This song came on the cd as I pulled up in Arches National Park. Gorgeous scenery, but I stayed in the car until this song was over. He did some great stuff. |

It's not Chapin with an Ovation, but it's close. |

I think my favorite cover of a Harry Chapin song was in the PBS tribute concert from years ago. Pat Benetar did "Shooting Star" with so much feeling it still gives me chills when I hear it. It is on youtube, but rather than tearing my hair out trying to post a link, I'll let you all wander over there and hear it for yourselves, if you're so inclined. |

You guys did alright, considering the rain. And the dark. And the ink smearing on your lead sheets. And the wind blowing your lead sheets all over.
Not bad at all. |
