Location: So Cal | I would agree. If you have soldering skills, I would use something like Mogami Shielded Quad cable with either Switchcraft or Neutrik connectors. |

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | I have three dozen cables of various sorts. They all work fine. My favorite used exclusively for gigging is the Monster jazz cable that was included as part of the swag with the OFC-I guitar (if I recall correctly). Monster also has an "acoustic" cable. The ones I don't like are the vintage style Fender tweed cables. They have a tendancy to tie themselves in knots. |

I like the George L's cause you can custom make the lengths and there is NO soldering involved. Very cool design that makes them easy to make, change or use. |

Location: NJ | the only problem with george l's and I have used them is when you kink them it stays forever. they are ok for short runs for pedal boards etc but a 12 ft can be problematic a 20 ft? forget it and if you coil cables like my wife using the handful of cable stuffed into a bag method DO NOT BUY GEORGE L's |

I have to admit that I primarily used them to make short runs for my pedal board or less than 2 feet for my effects rack.
The one long cable I have at about 12 feet is the red one (vs the black) which is a heavier cable and with that one I have never had a problem.
course I know how to roll my cables like a hose! |

sue has problems with the garden hose also. we go through at least one a season. I stopped buying them I absolutely refuse it does not matter if I buy the cheap or expensive ones she seems to twist them into pretzels so that no water will flow.
as for cables, all you need to do is coil them and get some of those velcro ties that keep them together and you will never have any problems. it takes a minute or two but the frustration and cursing it saves is endless |

Location: NJ | I made the mistake of loaning "Natalie"(a four-foot-long, 75lb. black cordura-nylon duffel, stuffed with speaker stands & cables) to my ex-partner for a gig.
Two speaker cables (a 20-footer and a FIFTY-footer) came back in a co-mingled mess at th'bottom of th'bag.

They're great for gigging because you can plug and unplug without noise or ticking off the sound guy. They seem to hold up well also and carry a lifetime warranty. I don't know what they retail for, but the guy at my music store sells them to me for 29 bucks. |

Location: Montana | I love the Snap Jack cables, coolest thing ever. There are magnets that connect the cable part to the plug part. If someone steps on your cable the magnets will separate releasing you from your amp or guitar to protect your gear. You can disconnect without turning the amp down or off and it will make no noise. I leave the plug in my (passive) electric guitar all the time and just disconnect the magnets. About $40 for a 20 footer. |

Location: NJ | I talked about the circuit disconnet cables with my CBI rep I wanted to get them he told me not to. they are expensive ends even the cheap ones and they have a high failure rate.
best to just remember to turn the vol on the amp or the PA |

Location: Latitude 39.56819, Longitude -105.080066 | You know I have a very heavy duty coiled cord that I got 4 or 5 years ago. It is about 7 foot long (including the 10-12 inch straight end w/jack on each end) and I am guess it will stretch to about 12-15 feet.
It is very thick and I bet it weighs close to 2 pounds. Actually one of my favorite cords.
I just looked at it and it is a BULLET COILED CABLE and apparently it will stretch out to 25 feet (which I find hard to believe).

Anyway I guess I grew up on the coiled cord playing back in the 70's and probably bought it out of nostalgia. It is a great cable but I would not buy another one (mainly cause who needs more than one).
It does prevent the garden hose roll up syndrome. |

You remember when we were walking NAMM and saw those really cool mic holders that fit on the side of the amp for recording or micing at a live venue?
Did you ever get info and pricing on those?
