Location: Tidal Mudflats of Virginia | We're fine here, some down trees in the neighborhood. Lost power and tv a couple times but it was all back up within the hour. Little town of Driver about a mile away appears to have had a touchdown into a couple of stores and they were destroyed. Schools are all closed this morning and several neighborhoods have curfews in effect. Super-quick moving storm system, only got about a 2 minute warning before all heck broke loose. Fortunately no reports of any killed by the storms, just lots of glass & flying debris reported injures.
Thanks for checking on us Bobbo :D |

Katrina takes out a boatload of your guitars and now you have front row seats to a tornado.
You'd better be careful. |

i have a tornado related question: how does "solid" built houses do in such a conditions? i mean, houses built of bricks not from prefabricated materials. tornadoes are starting to show up here more often and i wonder if those extensive damage is related to built materials of houses or there is no difference if house is built from bricks, wood etc.
sorry for OT but it was bothering me for some time. |

Slipkid,
Yep, dodging hurricane in the Gulf, tsunami and earthquakes in Hawaii and now tornado's in Viginia. Guess we could head for California and just deal with wildfires, mudslides and earthquakes or maybe Michigan to freeze my cajonas off.
The funnel cloud passed right over us yesterday after touching down but the bottom of circulation was already climbing back skywards and at least a thousand feet up. It was loud though and we had a lot of light debris rain down on the house and yard.
I figure when the fella upstairs pulls your guitar cord outta the amp...your finished playing regardless of where you tote your gear :) |

Location: Tychy, Poland | it's hard to me to imagine how my house could implode, but i haven't seen tornado in my life (and i hope i won't see). My house is 150 years old, with ground floor material is basically stone and 1st and 2nd floor is built from bricks. Walls are 2 feet (0,7m) wide... i'm just kind of scared that everything i used to see on movies came here. we had about 6 tornadoes last year and this year we had 3 and it's only april! ' |

Location: Boise, Idaho | Tornados are amazingly scary things. I lived in the Midwest for 25 years, including 6 in Kansas and only saw one, but I didn't see that one touch down. |
