| Well unless you want something hand carved like the one I did for Jerome and a few others? Sorry to have to mention it myself. I have some photo's still in this sites member photo section under Deacon Bridge. The bridges are another very difficult and rare piece of wood harware for the solid bodies that I make.

Location: Upper Left USA | Inlays are best left to the pro's like Bill Nichols.
Randy did an awesome job on recreating the carved TRCs but I know it took a lot to do it.
I had done some work with veneers an wood TRCs but I suck at inlays. Mostly matching Pickguards and TRCs.
Maybe it's time for another tutorial post on Cheaters Inlay methods? More later. |

Shoot, I'd like one like the last one there with my Son's name on it for his 77 CB.
I wouldn't even mind having one with my Dad's name to stick on the 68 DB (of course, I'd put the original in a safe place).

Crimson....did you ever get that Deacon assembled? I'd love to see how the tailpiece looks on that. One of Mikes Walnut Pickguards and you'll have a real stunner.

Location: Upper Left USA | The one on the far right is an Ovation Laser Etch original but there are work arounds. Let me see what I can do.
The "Roos" are done with a special technique that I call "cheating"!
At Crafts Stores you can find various paper punch shapes for the "Scrappers". With some effort I can punch out thin veneers and have a positive and a negative to adhere to a thicker surface.
My dremel skills and patience are nowhere near what Mr. Nichols has. |
