Location: Eugene, OR | I'm considering buying an Elite 2078LX and I'm wondering if anyone else on the board owns one or has experience playing one and can give me their thoughts. Reviews of this model are surprisingly absent on the web.
I presently own an Adamas W597 and an Ovation GCS771c. I love both of them and of course they both have completely different character traits... But would sell both if the 2078LX plays as nice as it looks..
Thanks.

Location: Canada | I got one, cherry burst, but I honestly can't compare it to anything. Last Ovation I played was a 6yr old Celebrity, korean made mid bowl. All I can say is that it's worlds better then that one. The only other standard I got in the house is a yamaha fg750 which is not even in the same league in any way.
I just spent 5 hours straight playing it. I love it. The only complaint I'd have is the deep contour bowl is comfortable as it gets when sitting down, but standing it tends to point away from you a little making it harder to see what your playing when standing. But the deep bowl sounds really good, I'd never go back to a round back or anything less then a contour back now. |

Location: Utah | Do you not like the Adamas? I'm sure that the 2078LX is a very fine instrument, but is it worth selling an Adamas to buy one? |

Location: Eugene, OR | Great question!
I love the Adamas but I've always wanted a really nice Elite for 30 years now and ordered a nice one through a 'friend', back then but he ran off with my money and I never got the Elite.
I've wanted one since then but I've wanted a Great One. There is just something beautiful about a natural top Elite.
I love the Adamas but I'm running out of wall space and I don't need several guitars,.. I just want one great one with a spruce top.
I may have just solved the problem as I just purchased the '10 Elite limited edition, 2078LE that should be arriving in about a week.
If it lives up to my needs..... All I need is one good guitar. It would be nice to pare down my collection so the rest will probably go.. The Adamas is still in mint condition. |

Is there a rehab that deals with this kind of itch? |

There used to be 3 of them shown in the Sweetwater ad.
The third one is headed my way....
The Ebay auction is overpriced and says "1 in 25" which we know is a mistake.
It's one in 50.
Moody....
The Martin is mine now.... '00 SPD12-16R Yeah! baby...
One big concern of mine is temperature fluctuations it might run into during shipment... being left in a 10 degree truck somewhere...while making it's journey cross country. |
