Hello to everyone,

does anybody know something about these woody roundbacks compared to Ovation?

For a few years the manufacturer (www.spaxmusic.com) built some of the Ovation-guitars there (Korea)...

Difference in sound, volume and tone?

Thank you...

I have never tried a Hohner Eclipse. They used to turn-up on my evilBay Ovation searches until somebody might have mentioned copyright infringement.
I would really like to try one, cuz the backs look Great!

Unfortunately, the top looks confused and fugly!
Even if you buy the hype about the "Cross-Woven Spherical Alder for its back." It is still Plywood.
I would like to try a used one for $150... But I doubt that I could re-sell it.
You gotta give them credit, they even ripped-off the Five Piece Neck.
"Strings and Things" in Salisbury, MD has been trying to unload these things on evilBay for a long time, but I haven't got $330 to experiment.

But! When I went to the Hohner website they don't have anything about the Eclipse.
Leads me to believe that Hohner has not manufactured them for a long time, and the ones that I see are just old-stock that they are still selling.
