I received one of my Christmas presents today; it got hung up in the mail I suppose...and no it's not a guitar...or any instrument in a literal sense...it's a CD of an incredible voice.
I put it in the CD player in the living room and listened to the sounds coming out of the Bose surround sounds...and I actually had goose bumps...

The CD is "I Dreamed a Dream" by Susan Boyle...

Yes, the Susan Boyle of You Tube fame....The "Britain's Got Talent" singer who wowed everyone this year and eventually came in second...

Simon Cowell and Sony Music produced the album and as of last week, it has gone quadruple + platinum since being released in mid-November: the fastest album to ever do that...

I know this may not be some of your cup of tea...but I urge you to give it a listen objectively...The woman can sing!

The songs are well chosen and the arrangements are incredible. "Wild Horses" is unlike any arrangement of the song you have ever heard...it is unforgettable...
So are many of the others on the CD...
The final song, "Silent Night", is arranged with a background choir which comes in halfway through the song and again it is beautiful...awesome...
There is such a story wrapped around this singer and this CD...a veritable life's lesson...
It is hands down the best gift I have received this Christmas...I highly recommend it!

That "I Dreamed a Dream" Susan Boyle video still gives me a thrill!

Guess I know what to ask for my birthday...

Thanx Mike.

Gave it to my wife for Christmas. So did our daughter. I also played the video at the breakfast table at Christmas. Gets the spirits up.
