Location: Canada | So, for those not keeping track. I and my mother decided to grab a 2078lx for my father. Mom is one of these women that has to keep everything a surprise for xmas, and what usually ends up happening is her blowing money on things nobody wants.
So, she calls me up last night and says dad loves his guitar, he should, he loved mine and hence why we ordered another. And he loved his amp. I was like...amp? nobody asked me about what amp to get.
Some "musician" told her that this yamaha was a good amp for home. Now quickly looking at the specs of this thin, it doesn't seem to be what I would recommend for a guitar, and given the price, i think there are better options but maybe someone else out there with hands on experience could comment? I have not seen the unit yet. He only needed a jamming amp for home, never gigs, heck he doesn't even sing, just a casual guitar player that enjoys relaxing and playing some tunes now and then. | |

that Yamaha StagePas 150m is a small PA ( quite good fer small clubs ) , yet , yer saying that yer father wants to play at home with it .., and his Git is an Acoustic ain`t it ..?..
What about a G-DEC .. has build-in drummer , several highly usable FX , provision fer recording loop , it has MUCH More t`offer than any amp. when one wants to " Play /Improve " .. ,and when , one later-on wants to perform publicly , then that li`ll wonder can be plugged into a PA .
I have Amps. , Speakers , Combo`s ( incl. a battery driven one ).. yet , the most often reached for , is that G-DEC ...
It´s a Great Companion fer a Git person.
