| I have a nylon-string Ovation with pickup. S/n is 0490xx which the Ovation site tells me is 1976 mfg. Problem is, I don't have the model number, can't find it on the guitar anywhere. Any hits for a newbie?
Thanks and Merry Christmas to all! |

| Heck. Just found the reference section (see, a noob duh!) Seems it's ca. 1975, but I can't decide if a 1616 or 1624 from the data. It's definitely nylon, slothead, A/E and i suspect 1616.
Sorry to go off half-cocked (actually, most firearms cannot go off if half-cocked, that's the safety notch...)

Location: Boise, Idaho | Measure the bowl depth. There was a list of depths somewhere. The 1624s are pretty shallow, but not as shallow as the super shallow bowls. |

SSB = 4 1/16"
SB = 5 1/8"
MDB = 5 2/8"
DB = 5 13/16"
Adamas = 6 1/16"
I'm adding this data to my 'O' spreadsheet before I forget... |

We like this kind of stuff. It's like playing "Name that Tune" |

That is actually about right! I thought that was too deep. But I got 5 3/10". |

I have seen them at the office supply stores in the area with the compass' and drafting kits. |

| OK, I see incredible (.
Depth of bowl to sounding board at center of the hole in sounding board: 4 1/2 in
width of nut: 1 7/8 in
nut->fret 12: 12 5/8 in
(Right on, numbfingers)
I don't know how to send pix to the group; tell me and I'll send 'em. I can't see how to send a "complete url" how dumb.
The sounding board is one finish, light. The sounding hole is surrounded with a ring of oak leaves (?) on a black background; it's an annulus about 1" wide.
Definitely slot head, and A/E. The volume knob is up on the side near the fingerboard; the 1/4" socket is on the back.
A poor description; I'd love to send some pix, the're ready...

My guess is it's a Country Artist 1624. That would be 14 frets to the body. Mine's sitting in the office and is about 4 1/2 inches deep, but it's a lot easier to count the frets. |

Yes, GAS station guy asks a good question. If it's 14 frets to the body, everything matches up and it's a 1624 Country Artist .
Your preamp has a single Vol knob, not stacked Vol/Tone?

| 14 frets to the body, single volume knob. So, country artist-sure looks just like the gallery pix. Only someone seems to have removed the sticker from the inside of the bowl. The outline is there, and some of the detail can be seen.
Merry Christmas to all of you!
Thanks.

Don Yeah Don... On some of the older guitars that Kaman feller would scribble his name on the label.
Rumor has it that because of that graffiti the value is lowered. :rolleyes:
Therefore someone might have removed the label. |

| Amazing. for most of the things of vertu, any desecration lowers the value.
