Great job Brad and Steve! My wife even liked it! Thanks for all the hard work. This is only my second one but it tops last years. Ya'll gonna love it, some really great shots and moments captured.

I'd like to say a HUGE THANKS to everyone who sent in pictures. You all did a great job!

There were so many great pics this year it was crazy trying to pick. We could have done 5 calendars and still had good pictures left over. There were at least 3 people who had enough great pics to do their very own calendars!

I redesigned the layout to get more guitars in, like Woody said more guitars less calendar.

There were some challenges at the printer this year. If anyone has any quality issues with their calendars, PLEASE send me a PM.

Thanks!
Steve

Mine arrived today, too. My wife and daughter were helping me check it out and SWMBO sees the OFC II and says "That's pretty." I was so shocked, I didn't even tell her that Al had only one left.

But, I'd like to know... Was it just a coincident that the 'Fruitcake Toss Day' is the same as my birthday?!?!?

I was just going to say "I particularly love October" too. I think my friend Jeff is going to like May because of Dweezil's '07C. And I am gearing up to celebrate April 1st, May 22nd, and December 16th. I'll be celebrating September 5th too, but I might have to put it off until later.

SWMBO was asking me about all the unusual holidays listed in the calendar. I told her they just made those up, but I'm not sure she believed me. Why would anybody print a calendar with a bunch of screwball holidays in it? Maybe because it's for a bunch of screwballs?
She also noticed that someone else is more obsessive than me..."those look like the same guitars". All of a sudden, having 17 Ovations wasn't so obsessive.

Hey Mark, it's all true I got it off the internet!

All of those screwball holidays actually exist, at least to some people.

unusual holidays

Doesn't mean they aren't screwball holidays, just that somebody celebrates them.

Whoo-Hooo, I got my face in the calendar. Not quite the cover of the Rolling Stone, but I'm honored none the less. Nice job Brad and Steve. I'm struck by the irony that the MOTY is shown playing a Takamine! But hey, who ever said we weren't an irreverent bunch. THANKS

I thought I went to some significant effort to get some pics this year, but then I saw Damon's. As usual, his pics were over the top. SWMBO asked if he photoshopped the background, but I pointed out that they were all taken sort of near where he lives. It must have been especially difficult to find a time when it wasn't raining. I am humbled once again by the photographers and the editors. Excellent job.

My wife really gave me a lot of crap about toting my guitar to the shore of Lake Superior. She was kind of embarrassed as people watched me set up my guitar and lay in the sand on my stomach....then she saw the calendar and the light came on. I am not the only nut out there.

Rich,
I waited till fall to take the pics at the lake. Summer is too crowded. I tried in September and found a time when there was only one family on the beach, but they had dogs and I could see one of them knocking a guitar in the lake, so I waited a couple weeks. Of course, I forgot the stands the second time, so I set them against the bench.
Just after I finished, somebody walked by and asked what I was doing. I said, "taking pictures of guitars". He made some comment about my weirdness, to which I replied that he's probably taken pictures of stuff I thought was weird. Everyone has obsessions. We just express them in different ways. I'm going to try to match Damon's scenery shots next year, but it might be difficult to carry the guitars to some of the more scenic places I've been to in Idaho.
Brad, thanks for calling me modest, but there's not much to taking pictures of beautiful guitars and scenery. I've got plenty of both.

Just be glad your birthday isn't Leap Year Day (like my daughter's is.) You'd have to be 268 to start Social Security. ;)
Excellent, excellent job--I don't envy you the task of selecting what goes in, what doesn't, and then where to put what in which size.
Thanks so much.

I'm beginning to wonder if the postal service sent the ones to California via Clipper ship.

I have to laugh.
The PRIOR 2 years I was the one moaning how everyone had received their calendars but me. It was like Colorado had fallen off the map.

This year I was one of the first and I was totally surprised to receive it as quickly as I did.

Bobbo and Beal....good news is that it is worth the wait. Best one yet!

I thought I heard the "Governoator" shut down the Postal service due to lack of money in California. ;)

Nah, they just slapped on a delivery tax and a convenience charge on top of the special federal excise tax and communications surcharge.

It's hard to beleive that orders have arrived in France and the UK before California.

And it's also hard to beleive how many "regulars" have e-mailed me in the last week saying that they completly missed any mention of a calendar and are there any left.
Am I not doing my job promoting this thing? If I have to I'll don the coconuts and grass skirt one more time if it means getting the word out.

Brad, if you had promoted it any more we'd have to come over there and slap you.

It's been a sticky at the top of General Posting for nearly 3 months. I'd say you did the best you could short of sending out daily emails to all the members.

You and Steve do a great job of this EVERY time!
Thank you!

Gee, Brad, the announcment to order them is the second one down on the General Postings page, and it's been promoted quite well--I don't know what more you could have done. (And leave the coconuts alone--if anyone had had a question about the whens and wherefores of the calendar, they could have PMed you about the time we start to think "calendar.")
Although, maybe an "Absolutely the Last Call to Order a Calendar" post in flashing neon capital letters might have gotten the attention of anyone who missed it this year--a consideration for next year?

They say the missed the 3 month long promotion of the calendar yet immediately notice it when people start receiving them.

I think it is more a case of procrastination than poor eyesight.

Do you think they noticed that the year was running out as well?

OK, I went all the way downstairs and got them.
Great job as always guys.

Lots of nice gitters, but I have to say that I still have one favorite. The Floral Italian 335 copy, that guitar is awesome, a true relic from the 60s. Found it in the basement during the clean out. Yes Adamas #35 was the "best" guitar there but the Floral was the "coolest".

No double dates...the entire month wasn't connected to the rings...the holes were cut too short...so a little tape and voila'...

Well I kinda like having two 25ths in Feb. and March. Maybe I can finally get some work done that day(s). I just wish there were double 25ths in November so we could have Thanksgiving twice. (I LOVE turkey and stuffing.)

Do you know how much mis-striked coins go for? I think if we save the wrong-numbered calendars, they'll be worth more in the auction later on.

I was out of town for a while, and have been a little under the weather ever since, so I have been doing more lurking than posting lately… (you're welcome.) ;)

But I belatedly acknowledge that I DID get my calendar and it IS spectacular. Do we really need more than one Friday the 26th per year anyway? I don't think so… ;)

Anyway, really great job, and a big THANKS!
