Well, I FINALLY figured out how to record on my computer, and with Bob's help I even managed to get the songs on my ning page.

So.... Times are tough
Life is hard

Thanks guys. Merry Little Christmas was recorded here at the shop on the 1680. I didn't have the volume up high enough because when I tried it at full volume the bass was starting to overdrive. I took the computer home and recorded Santa Clause at full volume with my beloved 2077LX. It isn't as bassy as the Adamas so it didn't overdrive, but there IS that annoying background hiss. But, I'm learning...

Wow, my friend Iffy is a genius. He just took both of these songs and cleaned them up and increased the volume for me. They sound much better now. Thanks once again Johnny!

No genius here. Audacity is user friendly. I know that others here are a heck of a lot more competent than I. I'll bet the 'pros' here don't even use it.

Alison, I must say that I was quite impressed with your playing. Lovely 'stuff'!

Oh, yeah, Merry Christmas to you and all our members!

Thanks Johnny. I am afflicted with stagefright in front of microphones too. Both songs are kind of sloppy, but I was so excited about figuring out how to record I couldn't resist.

That was so nice and soothing. How about a whole album, a real stress reliever.

Thanx for the tunes Alison. Nice and Mellow.

I keep telling myself that I must learn some Christmas songs besides the intro to Jingle Bells.

That\'s It!

Very, very nice Alison.

I'd love to play that type of finger-style but my brain is just not wired for it.

Thanks everyone. Hmm..."soothing", "stress reliever", "mellow". All my life I've been told I play "elevator music". I guess it's true. I don't so much try to play mellow, but I AM a very sleepy, kind of lazy, sort of boring,...Y-A-W-N...type of person. :D

(Oh, and for those who knew me when I was young {Beal}, please don't mention how loud, pushy and cantankerous I USED to be.)

Nothing wrong with mellow.... but my duo partner warns me if I start drifting in the direction of "lounge lizard".

Keep it up Alison.
Alison??
Alison??
Hey... somebody nudge Alison. Looks like she dozed off... again.

Those are both extremely well done. Thanks for posting. It's also nice to hear the difference in the two guitars. Were you mic-ed or just plugged in to the computer? Any special interface or straight to the sound card? What software?

Post more and often!

Just lovely Alison!

I've been trying to free up some time to record my arrangement for In The Bleak Mid-winter and I'm trying to work on something new for What Child Is This, but it seems the more I want to play music, the busier my schedule gets.

But these certainly brighten my holiday a little, especially since you can apparently play rings around me.

I played them both as background to a slideshow of your pics. Very nice. A little snow in the pictures or outside my window would have made it even better.

Hey, Girlfriend;
Much better than over a crackly phone connection.
I didn't hear any stage fright, and really, really enjoyed them both. In fact, I will listen to them again later, when I get home from giving Tim his lesson.
(Now I know what I want you to teach me when I come west in June.)
So glad everyone else finally has the chance to hear you,

--Karen
