Location: Cheyenne, Wyoming | Someone once told me that the Optima is pretty much the same as the OP24, but repackaged. I don't know if it would make much of a difference at all, especially considering the $275 or so that you'd pay for a new Optima. |

OP24+C draws more power (6mA vs. 4.7 mA)
OP24+C has higher distortion (.3% vs. .1%
OP24+C has 3 band EQ vs. 4 band EQ
OP24+C has Prehape and Midshift vs. Notch Filter
I am a huge fan of Optima, but some people feel that the OP24 has a "warmer" sound.

Is there a comprehensive pre-amp comparison chart anywhere on the web?
It'd be nice to have the 'footprints' also! |

It took me 30 seconds of work on the ovation website.
As shitty a job as they have done with the guitar info, they actually have done a VERY nice job with the electronics section of the website.

I love the balanced line out. |

did you have the work done at the factory? did they have to move the output jacks? thanks. |

The balanced line out is next to it.

You will love the new battery box with sliding cover. So much easier. |

Location: Nashville TN. | Oh ya the onboard tuner is simply a great feature too.
OP-24 is excellent system sound wise.
Optima is leap ahead.
The balanced line out has at least 3 times the output.
I had my T-bolt since Aug 15th 1989.
I had no regrets in the new preamp. |
