Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | While focusing my attention on the walls, ceiling and big pieces of floor gear in the bandroom, I lost sight of the fact the floor was becoming increasingly cluttered with occasionally used pedals that were not part of a regular board stored in a carrying case, guitar cords, power supplies, sheet music and music books, and other bits and pieces of guitar and amp miscellany. Anybody who has a bandroom or personal studio has likely experienced this problem. Stuff starts cluttering the floor. I’ve remedied this problem first by stumbling upon a nifty custom two-drawer amp stand cabinet covered in tweed to resemble the amp itself. This cabinet then got me thinking of a way to similarly lift other amps off the floor and led me to build this simple yet effective two-shelf stand with fiberboard drawers. While the high-quality custom tweed cabinet goes for about $250, and is worth every penny IMHO, the shelves and fiberboard drawers can be built for less than $15, thereby serving the same purpose for a lot less coin. With the stands in place, the bandroom floor sure looks more tidy. Pics below show the tweed cabinet below a Bassman and Reverb Unit stack, and the two inexpensive stands below a Vox AC30 and a Twin Reverb with drawers open and closed.

Good stuff Professor! |

Location: closely held secret | Brad, that is excellent! I should build some of those.
...of course, it will require a sizable investment in amps before I can start... |

Since it is the basement, I could not go out any further without disturbing the 100 year old foundation that supports three stories of triple brick walls. As an alternative, I suggested that we go straight up into the room directly above, but SWMBO said she really wanted to keep the kitchen. I asked what for since it rarely sees any use. When she resumed speaking to me about a week later, I decided against revisiting the issue. |

Location: 6 String Ranch | Hey, you've seen what I have. I suspect your room is bigger than mine. I had to take over the bathroom on that floor. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | I still remember her rolling her eyes after we emerged from the band room, Brad. I've seen that look before. I have more room, but less stuff, unless you count the weight machine that I took months to assemble. It takes up too much space, but it's staying in the house when we sell it. |
