Location: Location Location Location | That was a tough day. Sometimes you remember exactly where you were when something happens. I was going to Hofstra U. and was in the parking lot walking to my car. Sunny and windy in NY; I remember it so clearly. Got into my VW bug, turned on the radio and heard it on the news. So young, such talent, such a shame. |

| Gary, I remember being 9 years old and being sad that the singer of my favorite song at the time, "Bad, Bad LeRoy Brown" had died.
Here is an obscure song by Maury:
I Remember Mary
Here is a rare one by Jim:
In the Jailhouse Now

Location: Seymour, Tennessee | I had a live performance casette that I can't seem to remember the name of.
In it, Jim would do ann explanation behind how or why he wrote each song.
Very Cool.
I've got to scour E-Bay to find it on CD.
One of the funnier songs was The Ball of Kerrymuir (not sure of the spelling) but funny as hell, maybe too rauchy for some though.
Anybody remember the name of that album/casette/cd? |

It is interesting to note that Jim was actually hired to be a back up to Maury, but Maury's solo career didn't work out.

Anybody remember the name of that album/casette/cd? I think you got the spelling right on that one, Mike. I saw a YouTube of a song called "Five Short Minutes of Lovin", which featured some awesome guitar playing by Maury, but some might find that song offensive.
I don't remember the name of the cd, but the DVD is called "Have you Seen Jim Croce Live". Well worth it to have in a collection, IMHO.

Location: Hanau, Hessen, Germany | I stumbled over Jim Croce a couple of times since I joined this forum.. What can I say - I am really fascinated by his songs, his playing and the way he texted his songs... Just amazing. I turned out to be a fan after all these years not even knowing of him... So thank you forum I guess :) |

Location: Boise, Idaho | I've always been a fan, except I liked his ballads better than Leroy Brown or Don't Mess Around With Jim, that were more popular back then. I found the dvd in a music store just when I was getting back into guitar. I've watched parts of it dozens of times, to try to learn songs, but the first time SWMBO and I watched it all the way through with Ingrid's narrative both of us got really choked up. |
