This may be a dumb question, but does Nashville stringing your guitar put more stress on the neck and bridge. Last year I did this to my '99 Collectors for about 4 months and, to my ear, it's never been the same since. Both g8r and Iffy have heard the guitar and said that it just doesn't sound right. I'm trying to come with reasons why it might have changed, because it used to have a nice, full sound.

Nashville would put less stress on the guitar. Did you make any other changes, like pulling a shim or putting a new nut on? Something else has got to be the culprit ... unless that guitar sounded so damn good strung Nashville that no other stringing will sound right from now on. ;)

Nope, no other changes. And yep, it sounded damn nice, especially when fingerpicking. As a matter of fact, I'd like to keep one of my gits strung Nashville all the time (maybe this one, since it sounds like crap now anyway.)
