Well I got it back today from my tech. The really bad news (earlier) the neck joint had been actually broken, the top was broken adjacent to the neck, some of the bracing was broken & loose. Good news - he thought he could fix it for me. I picked it up today. He had to reset the neck completely - it is no longer a bolt on, but is now glued in. Repaired the cracks in the top & the bracing. The electronics also needed some work. On the plus side - the guitar now looks and plays great!! The top of this things looks like new (well almost), the only grazing is where the top had broke next to the neck - the rest of the top is practically factory fresh. The tech cleaned it up very well and the whole guitar looks just fantastic! Nice sound, good bottom, mids & treble. I'm very happy. Happier still when I looked at the repair bill - 1 Ben Franklin! So I end up with a 20 yo plus, American made Ovation that looks fantastic, plays well & has a burst top to die for. Yes indeedy - I'm a happy little camper (or O player).

AlanM. I put pictures up with my original post about getting this. Don't want to bore everybody with repeat pics. Thanks.

That's great news, indeed!
That's how I felt when Gertrude experienced her unfortunate accident, and when I went to retrieve her from the gentleman who repaired her, it was $16.00 + change--roughly the equivalent of about one Ben Franklin now, I guess. ("That's ALL??!!" "That's all it took...")
Thanks for letting us know how it all turned out.

Great news, Alan. I know you'll be happy with it. As I said before I miss my Ultra.
