Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | An amazing violin player. Saw on PBS last night. While several musicians of different styles just do versions of pop tunes taylored to their instrument, this guy re-arranges the whole piece into different styles. As example "Flight of the Bumblebee" with a tribute to Nirvana in it. "Nothing Else Matters" done as a Classical piece...
Very cool... very well done.. |

Location: Newington, CT | Watched this one, as well as a "Flight of the Bumblebee" for YouTube from the same guy.
Got a HUGE chuckle from the "Flight..." video! It was an attempt (successful it turns out) to set a Guinness Record for violin speed!
Reminds me of a recent thread here debating whether a guitarist who did "Flight..." insanely quickly was able to put any "soul" into it.
Must be something going around!
Next? "Flight of the Bumblebee" on a piccolo! |

Location: Newington, CT | Or...tuba? How 'bout Bassoon? Might be some broken fingers and out-of-breath musicians!!! But it sure would be fun to watch someone try it! |
