Location: Tennessee | With all due respect to our friends around the world, today is a very powerful day of remembrance for those of us here in the US. And yes, I think many people around the globe. While the attack occurred on US soil, nearly 400 people from over 90 other countries perished in the attack.
To those whose lives were changed on 9/11/01, I just want to say ... we will never forget. And to all those who came after to help and were affected in ways we can never imagine ... thanks. With all my heart. |

Location: Bluffton, SC | And countless others have had their lives changed forever. I have a very, very good friend, a firefighter, who spent two weeks at Ground Zero lifting rubble only to pick out parts and pieces of people he may have known who perished in the attack. Since that time, he's all but lost his sanity and fights every day with thoughts of that time. Battles with alcoholism and drugs have plagued him since and his wonderful wife and kids have tried everything to support the man they knew only to lose the battle time after time.
A horrible, horrible tragedy and one that never should be forgotten. And never repeated anywhere on the planet. |

Location: Hot Springs, S.D. | :( My ex who passed away recently was an ironworker. He was at ground zero the very next morning helping in the recovery. He'd be there for a week, come home for two days, then go back for another week, etc. I often wonder if that is where his cancer came from, but even if he had known it would kill him he would've gone anyway. |

Bless him and all those who lived through and died on that day. What a day we can never forget how we felt before, during and after!
