Thanks.

| Usually 1-3/4" or wider. Standard Ovation nut with is 1-11/16". Finger style players usually prefer 1-3/4 to 1-7/8" widths. Classicals are 2", I believe. |

Classical = 2 inch
Wide neck = 1-7/8 inch
Standard = 1-3/4 inch
Narrow = 1-11/16 inch |

Location: 6 String Ranch | I'd agree Dave but that is kind of a modern version of it. 1 11/16 has been the standard for 50ish years. There have been some that were 1 1/2, and I'd call them narrow. Mosrite, Travis Bean (1 1/2 and their wide was 1 11/16) and a couple of others I can't recall. Some of the wide variations that are out there now, like Collings are 1 23/32 I think. |

| The current AG mag has a review of a new Seagull that states the nut width at 1.8" (a hair under 1-13/16).
Just thought I'd throw that out... |

Just thought I'd throw that out... I noticed that too, and thought "what do they have their own custom nut factory?" |

| Why not. We have a custom nut factory right here on this board... |

Just thought I'd throw that out... My Lakewood has a nut width of 1.81" ... actually, it's officially 46mm. Those crazy Germans still insist on using the metric system. :rolleyes: You can also get Lakewoods in 44mm (1.73"), 45mm (1.77") and 48 (1.89" - just a tad bigger than 1 7/8). |
