Location: East Wenatchee, WA | I grew up spending time in the cab of my Dad's truck (logging truck, wheat hauling truck, long haul) and listening to Red on the 8 track. A lot of his stuff still bounces around in my head to this day. |

Location: the BIG Metropolis of TR | Red Sovine was a master of recitation.(narration set to music) His sense of timing and phasing on songs like "Teddy Bear"(his biggest hit) "Phantom 309" and many others made him the king of the narrative song. Other great recitators(is that a word? ) were Porter Wagoner("Green, green grass of home" "Carroll county accident") and Jimmy Dean(the sausage guy!)("Big bad John" "I.O.U.") |
