Location: Capital District, NY, USA Minor Outlying Islands | I know it's quaint to think of albums these days, but for a 5 hour care trip what 3 LIVE albums would you bring for the cd player. The three that come to mind are ...
Cheap Trick Live at Budokan
The Ramones --- It's Alive
The Allmans --- Live at Fillmore East
Any recommendations much appreciated. |

1 Weather Report - 8:30
2 BBC Symph Orch/Colin Davis - The Last Night of the Proms
3a Ten Years After - Recorded Live
3b Deep Purple Made in Japan
Recently I have spent some time snooping around in the live music archive at www.archive.org and there are many good recordings to be listened to. One which I have fallen for is a concert from 1976 with The New Riders of the Purple Sage. You can find the playlist here: http://www.archive.org/download/nrps1976-06-25.shnf/nrps1976-06-25.... which you can open with your favourite player. Actually the playlist is messing up the title information but otherwise it works. |

Location: Marlton, NJ | I actually got into Ian Hunter 1st and never really made the jump back to Mott. I do know that album, but only the original version, not the re-release. From the clips, it sounds pretty good - I think it's next on the list. Though I have to find the CD as only the original version is available as a download. |

| Someone on here actually heard of Annie Haslem - I saw her a few times with Renaissance..lol
The Allmans --- Live at Fillmore East = best version of Statesboro Blues I've ever heard them do.
If you liked that you might like Johnny Winter Live, And. First 3 tracks and last track Johnny B. Good all really rip. Great slid intro to "It's My Own Fault."
And yeah, Live at Leeds is another kicker. |

Three others that haven't been mentioned (according to my hasty scan) and are worthy of top-three consideration:
Little Feat - Waiting For Columbus
Guy Clark - Keepers
New York Rock And Soul Revue - Live at the Beacon |

When I went to order it on Amazon, it said that there was a new release coming out - double CD, so I waited for that one. I've only been able to listen to a couple of songs so far, and I like it! I'll let you know how the rest is when I get a chance to listen to it. |
