Here's tonight's song, pretty much on topic.
April’s Fool by bill kaman 3-1-09
(Am7)Standing on the corner, (Dm7)waiting in the rain
(E7#9)He’s (E7b9)A(E7#9)pril’s (Am7)Fool
(Am7)Said she’d be there, (Dm7)she forgot again,
(E7#9)He’s (E7b9)A(E7#9)pril’s (Am7)Fool
(Am7)And though he knows, (Dm7)she plays him like a toy
(Am7)He would never leave, (Dm7)she’s his happiness and joy
(Am7)He keeps waiting (Dm7)for the day she’ll change
(E7#9)April’s Fool
She’s running late, he’s calling all around
Nobody knows
She hasn’t been at work, or anywhere in town
Where can she be?
He pretends he doesn’t see, all the other men
He believes that they’re, just all old friends
But there are so many, it keeps going on and on
April’s Fool
He keeps her picture, in a gilded frame
Right by the door
She takes his new car, does his coke and champagne
Always wants more
You’d think he’d wake up, but he hasn’t got a clue
The way he loves her, there’s nothing he can do
He buys her handmade boots, she walks all over him
April’s Fool
Waiting by the telephone, waiting in the car
Waits all the time
Waiting at the restaurant, waiting at the bar
Can’t see the signs
And though he knows, she plays him like a toy
He would never leave, she’s his pride and joy
He keeps waiting for the day she’ll finally change

And the end is E7#9 !! !A !pril's !Fool, (hit the chord 5 times) |

I went through the few times..
You really really hit a universal theme there..
It sticks in your head quickly.
The double meaning hook really works.
The right voice could make this a hit song.
You need to get it published.
No BS

Location: 6 String Ranch | they pulled a double cross on us. At the beginning they gave us 10 minutes to write a new song, topic was double cross.
Then our main song was the warm-up and the double cross was the competition song.
There were only five of us. So we do this.
Turns out the double cross was that both songs were judged. So I got third for both. Darby got second for his double-cross one. It was true classic Darby. |
