Location: Atlanta,Ga. | Stone, yes the slothead is the "Paul McCartney and Wings" guitar #57.It is by far the best sounding original slothead i have played and i have played 6 total and have owned 3 so far. This is the only one i have at this time and is in excellent condition has a wide neck and sounds great..
Dobro, the fretboard is nice on the 1687 and the walnut neck is beautiful as well.It has some nice figuring on it |

Location: Atlanta,Ga. | Colin, good to hear from you.I still remember the day we played a prank on my buddy who owns the music store here and you walked in with your slothead adamas while i was outside his store out of eye site.I was just waiting for his frantic call about some guy walking in his store with one of these rare beauties. He couldn't call me fast enough. That was fun..You still living in Ga. ? |

Location: Atlanta,Ga. | Professor, the two guitars are very different and im happy about that. The Goodall is a concert jumbo so it has a bigger body and deeper bass. The Goodall is all everyone claims them to be.He builds amazing guitars and ive never played a bad one.All three chords i know sound beautiful on it..
The wood adamas is a much smaller body more of a ooo body. The highs are very clean ,crisp and i would compare it to an Olson like James Taylor plays. It is a fingerpicker type guitar without boomy bass but has just enough lows to keep me happy. It can really change by using the Ovation rubber plugs on the lower bout holes and becomes a completely different sounding guitar. The combination of all wood and the adamas multisoudhole design really works together. The best of both worlds and no one can make fun of a plastic back.It really gets some weird looks when i take it out.. |

What bracing pattern was used on the wooden Adamas? |

Location: Atlanta,Ga. | Top is hybrid X brace..The only other brace that was added at the end on the top is a floating brace across the top bouts.Starts at the sides floats up over the soundholes and meets at the middle between the apelettes..

As a matter of ceremony, I think you were the first to reply to my first post on this board which concerned an Adamas 1897...
Still, the rarest Adamas model I know of that had a production run.
I sold it for far less than you suggested I'd get... but, I was young and stupid...
I'm not young anymore. |
