or "I don't have time"
or "I'm too busy"
Make the time. Hang your guitar up on your wall so you see it everyday. I mute the tv and play during commercials. Or I mute it and play while watching golf or football. I have a guitar in my home office AND my real office. I play while on telephone hold, or waiting for a call to come in.
Don't ever stop....find the time. Don't let life get in the way. |

It has now become a standing joke in the office for staff to come by and see what new guitar is in my office. Worried about humidity (we're in an old historic building that I'm sure has no humidifier), I only bring in the electrics and hybrids. Currently I have the EA68 Tamo Ash Viper. |

All my guitars are hanging on the wall, in easy reach even for just a few moments' plinking. I also set aside 1-2 hours every evening where it's just me and the guitar of the moment, no other distractions. By necessity that has to be after my son and SWMBO are asleep :D |

"All my guitars are hanging on the wall" - Hmmmm 18" (average neck center to neck center) x 75ish guitars = 1350" or 112'running feet of wall space. Me thinks I need a bigger wall. |

I work out of my home office when not traveling, so I'm surrounded by the collection. Most of them are hanging on the wall, but there's always one right next to me on a stand. I too play when I'm on hold, or when I'm on a conference call (with the mute button on, of course!). |

Location: Marlton, NJ | Serge - that picture made me laugh - I have my room humidifier near where my guitars are hanging. When it's on, whichever guitar is on the hook closest to it, starts banging continuously on the wall - so much so that I had to pad it. I was picturing that happening with your arrangement and ALL of the guitars banging into each other  |

Location: Flahdaw | When I worked at a huge corporation, the CFO had an acoustic in his office. When we had sales meetings, during breaks we would go up there and take turns playing songs. The office girls would come by to listen. Even the BOSS came by once and said, "you guys are pretty good" and left. Guitars are kinda like puppies that way....they attract girls and even big old grumpy guys like 'em.
The economy may be going to hell in a handbasket, but we still have our guitars.
Sit, play, sing a tune, and smile. At least we can do that. That puts us one step ahead. |

Living in an Apt, I don't have room to hang them, but having only 5 (Ok 4, some don't consider the T-word anything more the Trebouchet
fodder ;) ) I do rotate and play them often. |

He said it happened suddenly (at different times). I'm guessing it was the lack of humidity... he still thumbed his nose at O's... O well. |

Location: Cherry Hill, NJ | Great uplift after reading that sorry ass post about "Why I Stopped" Dudes, there's nothing better than jamming with the boys, and it's your turn to do a ride. If you get in a funk about your playing, try something new. I've been playing guitar for over 40 years, from rock bar bands, to folk, blues and playing in church. I just started learning to play with a thumb pick style. Wow! Dig out those Jorma and Hot Tuna records. I try to play early in the evening each day. If I play late, I get wound up and can't get to sleep. Yes, leave those Ovations out, so you can enjoy them every day. |

Beach Boys- $6
James Taylor-$8
Jesse Colin Young-$5
Charlie Daniels- $5
Gregg Allman- $6.50
Etc....
Compare that to Hannah Montana @ $120.00 |

I paid I think $15 to $30 for Allman Bros, Boston, Seals and Crofts, Chicago, Harry Chapin, Boston, ELO, etc.. in the mid 70's
$120 for Hannah Montana doesn't surprise me, I mean really... I can't blame her.. Sell out a stadium at $50 a seat or $150 a seat.. no brainier. |

Beach Boys 1977
....actually the rest were 1977, either at the Univ. of Florida or Great southern Music Hall in Gainesville, Fl. Guess we were lucky, you sucker. |

That way if I sound okay, they appreciate it.
And if I suck, I warned them!
Actually, it looks more like this... a bit slower
__________
Concerts? The Band, Allman Brothers, Grateful Dead... $10 (free for me)
Alice Cooper... $4.50, $5.50, $6.50
ZZ Topp... Free
Jefferson Airplane... Free
Pete Seeger, Joan Baez, Arlo Guthrie, bunch o' locals... Free
Boston... $3 (first album release party, The Loft)
The Hooters... Free w/ Free Beer (but they played "And We Danced" 3 times to get a good recording)
Nobody is worth the money they are charging...
But I am pissed that I missed CSNY for $50 in Vancouver WA! |

Well, okay....But I own a business, I have health conditions that send me to the dr at least twice a week, I take pain meds 3 times a day, I have a 14 yr old daughter who is starting point guard for a travel basketball team that keeps us on the road 2 weekends a month and practice at least 2 nights during the week. I have a home that needs upkeep and yardwork, etc.....BUT, I still find as much time as I can to play my guitar. Maybe it's not for everyone, but I think it's important to never lose it. Play your guitar, I say. |
