| Got the (first of many, I'm sure) AARP membership invitation in the mail today. Guess that makes me officially a member of the OFC (Old Fart's Club)  |

| American Association of Retired Persons - a private organization that uses the strength in numbers of its members to lobby the US Congress on issues specific to the over-50 demographic. They also negotiate discounts for their members on various insurance products and consumer goods and travel industry sectors, among many other related activities. |

They started out as a grass-root organization and then found out there is a profit to be had. Most, if not all of their 'products' can be found cheaper elsewhere.
I'd rather join the OFC than the AARP... Oh, what? ... ummm never mind... |

Location: south east Michigan | My insurance guy asked me if I was an AARP member. I gave him the whole shpeel about wanting nothing to do with it. Then he told me that if I was a member I could save $300 a year on my auto insurance.
So... I am now a proud member.
Check with your insurance agent.
Your welcome. |
