Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | True story . . . our sound engineer is a gearaholic, particularly old mics. One of his colleagues reported that his neighbor's husband collected gear for years, then passed away, and his widow wanted to sell an expensive mic. He went to take a look and found it to be a vintage Neumann in original packaging which he was willing to buy on the spot. She then asked if he wanted any more and dug out a cardbox box full of loose "stuff". He took a quick look and found some more Neumanns scattered in the box, so he said yes and paid $2800 for the entire lot. I should see him tomorrow and will ask for a list of what he ended up with. It means little to me, but you Neumann fans might find it interesting. |

I need to give it a rest before I continue Al, I feel your pain...my PC (one of the fastest and supposedly best) is giving me fits...I've tried almost everything...a drop from a high bridge may work...
I just got another D18, a 35. Not that I needed one........... Since when was "need" a part of the equation for buying another guitar...lol
Congrats Beal, I'll bet it's a cannon... |

Get rid of that crap, buy an entry level non-PC and an Apogee Duet firewire interface and you'll be up and running before lunch. Think of what you could do (and money you could make) with all the extra time you'll have on your hands. At some point you gotta admit enough is enough ... |

Dave, I'm thinking that exact same thing...I have to use my re-embursable expense account someway...sounds good to me... |

Location: Phoenix AZ | I'll give a shout out to the Apogee Duet. VERY COOL UNIT. I really don't know crap about this stuff all I remember at last years Amelia visit Matt said something off the cuff like "just get an apogee and you're done". That was good enough for me. I looked at the 8 channel model for 2 grand and the 2 channel model for 400. Easy choice. Hey I've only got 2 hands so how many channels do I need. Answer is 2. The Duet works extremely well, is completely integrated with Logic and Maestro. Double thumbs up as far as I'm concerned. |

The old vs the new!
(or if you get frustrated just hop on a plane and come out to my place and we will fire them up in the project studio!)
I would love to compare them to my Blue Bottle with the various caps that are suppose to emulate the U87 and other classics. |

EEEYEEEWWWW! On one side, I'm too subtle. Then there's Al at the opposite end of the scale. Subtle as a brick. It's hard to believe our ancestors came from the same country. |
