| Hi,
I'm new to the forum, but have enjoyed my Legend since purchased in 1991. Recently, I had it slung around my back while opening the door for someone and dropped it squarely on the headstock. A large chip came off the top of the headstock and the pre-amp binding holding it in (older rectangular op24)is partially broken. The pre-amp now flops around a bit. Other than that, nothing happened to the guitar, thanks to its fine construction.
So has anyone on this forum had the new style electronics retro-fitted at the factory? I did a search and found an old thread with the same question but no answer. Thought I'd say hey and ask the same question while telling the story of my unfortunate drop. I'm keeping this guitar forever, so expense for repair and retrofit is not a major concern. Thanks, Mike |

First Welcome and stick around. There are many here who have a ton of knowledge that can advise you on this and many other questions. I,on the other hand may not have that knowledge. I would think though, that anything is possible. Contact John Budny or Kim Keller at the factory and ask them. I beleive you can go on the offical website and find the contact info. |

| Welcome. Ovation phone number 800-552-4681. Talk to John Budny or Kim Keller in Customer Service. If you have the chunk that chipped off the headstock they can replace it and re-finish it so you'd hardly know it was ever repaired. The pre-amp upgrade is an easy job, too. These folks do outstanding work, I've had them refurbish a couple of guitars. You won't find better customer service anywhere. Best of luck and keep us posted on what happens. |
