Location: North Bend, WA | Hi there!
I just picked up a wonderful sounding 12-fret slothead today. The model badge is missing, but from the little bit of research I've done, I'm pretty sure it's a 1114 Folklore, built in 1979 (sn 191xxx).
It's really a great sounding instrument, and what I would consider the perfect fingerstyle guitar. Love the spacing at the nut AND the bridge. The sound if clear, full-bodied and articulate, with great sustain and resonance. And I haven't found any dead spots. I love it!
So here's my question:
Does anyone know what the tops on these guitars were made with? Sitka? Cedar? Adi?
Thanks in advance!

Though tragically, it's probably just the beginning.
The first time I posted, I only owned one Ovation too.

BT717, I love pictures too, and I'll post some soon... maybe later today. But first I'm takin' her into town to see my set-up tech. I need to have him take the nut slots down a hair. Once I get that out of the way I'll try and get some pics up.
Warmest regards,
